superdogz1999 551 September 23, 2015 Share September 23, 2015 It seems to me that Equestria Girls has a larger feel to the Female Gender to MLP. For example, one of the things about why Equestria Girls is so girly is fashion as shown in a Clothes Store in the first film, while MLP might have Rarity making her dresses, it also has a lot of action and adventure compared to Equestria Girls.

M'gann M'orzz 745 September 23, 2015 Share September 23, 2015 (edited) Who cares? They both are pretty damn girly, but you really shouldn't give a damn. I thought everyone moved past that awkward period long ago, just accept people outside the fandom might look at you weirdly for liking ether but you shouldn't let that make you uncomfortable or whatever. So yeah, it really really doesn't matter. Edited September 23, 2015 by M'gann M'orzz 2 RARITY IS THE BEST PONY EVER
Windseeker 546 September 23, 2015 Share September 23, 2015 I get a really girly vibe from Equestria Girls than I do from the show itself, for some odd reason.
Kyoshi Frost Wolf 42,202 September 23, 2015 Share September 23, 2015 Equestria Girls, by far. EqG seems to fall under many of the 'gender stereotypes' that one would expect from a teenage high school film thing. It is not as girly as many others in the same category, but it still overdoes it I think to an extent. 1 Redeem me into childhood. Show me myself without a shell. Empty Room 512 September 23, 2015 Share September 23, 2015 Equestria Girls, as everyone else is saying. Much of the material in that film is very female oriented. "Have you ever felt the need to see more than you can see?"

Justin_Case001 4,934 September 25, 2015 Share September 25, 2015 Meh, I've recently been thinking that I don't really recognize anything as masculine or feminine, except the way a person feels. In other words, masculinity and femininity exist only as feelings within a person, but nothing else can be masculine or feminine. There's no such things as girly shows or girly sports, or guy shows or guy sports or anything else. It's just like the asinine idea of telling a guy that he should "act more like a man". If he's male, then any way he acts is acting like a man, because he is one, and he's acting like himself. What constitutes masculinity and femininity is, I believe, 100% learned and environmental. Like, if you made a Shyamalan Village and taught kids from birth that MLP is manly and Ninja Turtles and Transformers are girly, then that's what they'd think. Now what I mean? Am I making any sense? But I still live and breathe--I know that masculinity and femininity still have meanings in this world, and we all know what they mean. This is just a philosophical thing I've been ruminating on. P.S. I think FIM & EG are equal in...um...gender specific theming. Yeah, that sounds like an okay description.
Steve Piranha 29,496 September 25, 2015 Share September 25, 2015 FiM is intended with young girls as the target audience, who don't have a grasp of what's girly or not at that age. EG on the other hand, might be an attempt to keep the attention of the mostly teen target audience who gained more feminine interest, so, EG is more girly Sig by Discords
redaxted 1,765 September 25, 2015 Share September 25, 2015 (edited) I love them both so much! But I must say, Equestria Girls is more 'girly'. Mainly because of the whole... High School setting, and not to mention... Flash Sentry as a slight 'love interest'. It certainly reminds me of plenty of teen movies, but better Edited September 25, 2015 by Wolves
