John was walking down the stairs.  His signature tuxedo, top hat and monocle where polished to look their best. He tipped his hat to the guards he walked by, which earned a chuckle or a smile from the guards. He walked up to the grand doors, that separated him from the throne room. The reason that John was here, was because he got assigned along with another bodyguard to guard the newly crowned princess. He couldn't wait  to find out who she was.

 

John walked inside "Greetings your majesties, you have called upon my aid?" Said John with a bow, truly showing his gentleman behaviour. He looked to his right and saw the one he was going to work with

I'm working with John?! this is amazing! My life long goal was just to be noticed as a non evil dark mage and now I work for Luna and going on a mission with John! she thought excitedly looking at the princesses and him "oh right, is there any specifics to are job or all we have to do is protect her" she asked then looked at John "I'm Dark Shine by the way"

Luna nodded. "There is one thing that you need to know. There is a anonymous assassin guild that wants to do her in. So your enemies will be hard to spot" Explained Luna. John nodded "Thank you for the information princess Luna" He went down on his knee, and kissed her hand. "A pleasure to meet you Dark Shine, the name is John" Said the classy assassin. He took off his monocle, revealing his "Golden eye" which was a golden flame coming from his left eye.

Holy crap it really is John, I mean I had no doubts but I just can't believe that my life has turned this way to where Luna and John are in the same room! She thought seeing his 'Golden eye' and a bit of her excitement leaked out of her as she was moving her feet in place "so do we just leave now? If she is danger then I want to make sure that she is ok" she said trying to be calm

Luna nodded "Yes, i wish you the best of luck of luck operatives" Said Luna. John put his monocle back on, effectively hiding it again. "Alright princess, me and Dark Shine shall be off" Said John. He tipped his head, and began to walk towards the doors "So Dark shine. We need a strategic overview. Judging from your reaction back there, you know me and my powers too. So i want to know what specializations you have" Said John with his charming smile

she blushed a little but then got back on track "well I can make potions, use very advanced dark magic, and I have been told I am really nice and have even changed a few lives for the better...I'm not perfect though as I tend to forget things a little" she said smiling and scratching her head "I can use darkness as a cover, not exactly turning invisible but very hard to see and notice"

John nodded. "That's a good skill set for our mission" He then cleared his throat. "I will tell you my abilities just in case. I have my light flight" Said John and morphed into a little golden ember, he flew around for 5 seconds, and materialized in front of her. "My light dagger" he created a golden blade of pure energy. "And finally my appearance change"  Said John and disguised himself as Princess Celestia. He morphed back to his usual apperance "I also have a lot of gadgets, but they don't matter right now" Said John with a smile. They entered John's chamber. A map of the castle was laid out on the table. "Shall we begin miss Shine?"

"yeah I know about those, I read up about the agents the royals have" she responded to his skills as they neared the door "it looks like were preparing for a war, I guess the princesses thought you and me were all that was needed for this" she said looking at the map of Twilight's castle "do you have a set plan?"

 

(that's the right castle, right? be more specific, it happened the same way with kissing Luna's hand, you said he kissed her hand and there is move than one her in the room)

John offered her some Amarone. "Yes, i did have a plan." He took a sip of the wine and pointed at a room next to Twilight's chamber. "This is where the new princess lives as of now." He pointed at the door to her room. "This door is the entrance to her room, so we need to make sure we have an eye on it." John took out a picture of the castle from an outside perspective. He pointed at the windows, and alternative entrances. "These areas needs to be patrolled. But since the princess rarely stays at the castle, we won't have to patrol much." Explained John

 

(Sorry about that. I was kinda in a rush when i replied. But i'm not anymore, so you can expect much better posts now)

"well that's all good but what about her not being in the castle a lot? where is she normally?" Dark said as she thought that she should probably know about that "I'm sorry I'm so unprepared for this, I did,' mean to be but at least now I can know from you right?" she said thinking on the bright side of this like she tries to do

John took another sip of the expensive wine "From my research i found out that she likes the out doors a lot, and she is very humble about her title, so she helps every pony around town to show that she doesn't care about her rank" Explained John. He looked at his comrade. "We will just setup base at Ponyville, i have a house next to Princess Twilights castle, because i have protected her before." He folded the maps and layed them in a briefcase. "Well miss shine, we should probably make haste to Ponyville if we want to secure her safety" Said John with a smile "A chariot is waiting for us"

John chuckled. "I aim to please m'lady" They walked through the castle corridors "Yes, i do agree with you miss shine. Some personal information swapping would be a good idea. So what do you want to ask me miss Shine?. I might look snobby, but i won't take offense" Said John with a kind smile

John thought a bit. "Hmmm, my life as a child was pretty boring. Mom died early, dad always worked because he was a rich business man. So i mostly aimed for high grades in school, in hopes of getting an education that could lead me to becoming rich. That was however changed when this thing got in my eye" Said John while pointing at his little ember "But that's a story for another time" He smiled at her second question. "I have heard your name in the: "Well accomplished royal agents" file, but i never cared about anyone to check up on them. So i kinda ignored it" Said John with a sheepish smile. "So how about you? Did you have an interesting life?" Asked John

"I read that file in my spare time, I noticed you more than anything" she said then thought about her life "well I was a child of a very great mage and a mother how was a brewer at her own shop, just normal drinks no magic stuff. Anyway I got really into dark magic from how my father described it, something that ponies abuse for evil but has so much potential for good. My mom hid how she hated it but I got her drift on how she felt. I took over the shop when I learned her brewing and mixed it with the magic I learned to make it into a potion shop. I can't even remember the first step to how I got people to like my magic but I know that throw my kindness I was able to make people be fine with it in ponyville which got my business booming as well and I ended up getting noticed by Luna how I think is the best" she said happily "I say it was a fairly interesting life"

"I always pictured you as this really unique and nice person...you were mysterious mostly and that gave a lot to my imagination so I tried to fill in the missing things in it and I want to make it the best person I can think of and so far I think you exceeded my imagination" she blushed a bit "I didn't mean that in a weird way"

John got a little sad when that question came out. Of course, another girl who only sees the "badass gentleman" John let out a sigh. "Listen Dark. If you are another fan girl or something along the lines of that, then please say so now. I've had a ton of situations like this, and i don't want this to happen again" Said John with a sad frown

John smiled at that statement. "That's a relieve to hear. I hope that you didn't take offense, but i've had so many situations like this, that i've become paranoid" Said John sheepishly. They landed in ponyville, and john tipped the guards "Thank you gentlemen" Said John with a tip with his hat. He looked at Dark Shine "Lets proceed to my house, we'll finalize out plan there" said John

"must be a little hard being in those situations" she said looking at path "I wonder how she's doing now, the new princess I mean" she starts walking "what would be the luck if we just saw her playing with a few kids we pass by" she looks at a few kids looking like there chasing a dog

John shrugged. "I guess it's expected when you become a celebrety. Heck, i've even been hired as eyecandy once. That was awkward" Said John with a chuckle. "It's quite possible to find the princess playing with kids actually, she LOVES kids." Said John. They approached a decently big building. "Welcome to my humble adobe" Said John with a smile
