Halo 5: Guardians, the newest Halo from 343, is just around the corner! It's shaping up to look pretty good, but does anyone really care? Halo used to be the unrivaled king of Xbox, and now it is pretty obscure, thanks to Halo 4 and MCC. So, I was wondering if anybody planned on getting it?

I am very indecisive on this. While I did enjoy the beta, I am having a hard time getting excited for it. I may get it though regardless, because I feel like it will be the best competitive shooter this holiday season. Black Ops 3 is kinda fun, but the business practices from Activision still sting. Battlefront seems fun as well, but again, terrible business practices will potentially ruin what could have been an amazing game.

Halo 5, while it will have microtransactions I guess, it also is above these other games in terms of business too, with all of the new maps being free, which is how it SHOULD BE, these other games will suffer from not making them free. All charging for them does is split up the community and that is a really bad move. Also, Halo 5 will most likely have a good campaign, which is always a plus.

I will most likely get it, I am sure it will be a good time. I just hope we will not see Halo 6 for a long time, which that game was already confirmed and that is discerning to me. I have been a bit out of the loop lately on how Halo 5 is shaping up and hopefully I can get myself more excited for it. I love being excited for new games in the holiday season.

Forge and BTB(my favorite modes to play with friends) have been delayed to post launch, and splitscreen has been removed entirely, another thing I used heavily. All of this plus the new Warzone "dis is were casuls mus play" makes Halo 5's, and Halo's, future look pretty bleak. I would love for it to be "the one that brings Halo back", but it just isn't looking that way. :(

It seems amazing! I'm following it closely. Sadly I can't get it. If I could, I would. I've played all the Halo's up to this point and have quite the collection, but I sold my console and I have a horrible laptop, so I'd never be able to run it.

Damn, it's becomming a returning trend in the AAA industry to use microtransactions. But it probably has something to do with the absurd and unnecessary high development costs. And of course the biggest example would be Destiny and it's $500 million budget.

Japan, where Yo-Kai Watch's second movie has more success than The Force Awakens :umad:

I'm just waiting for these constant microtransactions, pre-orders, early access, and ridiculous DLC to bring about another video game crash.

One of the most hilarious things I've ever seen was microtransactions in DA3's multiplayer. I mean . . . why did it even have a multiplayer? Was there some significant section of the player base I wasn't aware of that was just crying out for multiplayer in a single-player RPG?

Oh, man... I am a huge long time halo fan. My good friend even used to have a youtube channel dedicated to Halo. However, I don't have an xbox one, so I won't be able to play it. I think the story looks really cool.

I've been a fan of Halo since I was six years old. I've played Halo 1-4, but since I don't have an Xbox One, I don't think I'm going to get to... :(

If I did get one I could finally play Halo 2 again. Which is something I've been wanting to do forever.  :muffins:

Halo 5 ugh yep I am getting the limited edition at midnight wooot really ecited for it. Got to say 343 has really pulled the ball out of the bag with this Halo 5 easily the best game of 2015 and it is already the most hyped.

I was going to, but the pay-to-win microtransactions killed it for me.

Best game 2015? It hasn't come out yet, how can you make such a bold assumption?

It could be good, I think it'll be a little too CoD for me though, if it works at all that is... :(

You're right i shouldn't judge it before release but between the broken severs for Halo: MC, the revamped multiplayer for halo 4 and their crappy servers for Halo 4, 343 has pretty much single-handedly killed Halo for me. Bungie has pretty much committed suicide with Destiny, $80 DLC and micro transactions.

Game industry please, i love you don't do this, bring back some really old games we'd love them in 1080p HD.

Because I can look at things like pre orders early reviews gameplay and look at my thoughts from playing the beta in jan. It's things like this that allow you to from an opinion and that is that halo 5 is a great game. Then looking at other games and how bad or good they are viewed alow you to make the assumption that it is the best game of 2015. And to me there are only two contenders for that title Halo 5 and Arkham Knight. And my money is on Halo no mater how much I love the Arkham games.

I've always loved the Halo games and I've played every single one including the Master Chief Collection through at least once, often several times. But I was very disappointed by Halo 4 and I've been playing PC games more recently so I don't know how much I'd play it. I think I will get it but not straight away, probably at Christmas or for my birthday next May even though it's ages away

Baaaaanter! :P

Halo 5 is the only game I'm truly excited for this holiday season. The campaign looks to continue Halo 4's excellent direction in narrative, the graphics are beautiful and it's impressive how they've managed to keep a locked 60fps with mostly 1080p for the game on a console that, well....isn't the greatest for that kind of thing ^_^

There hasn't been a single thing about the game that's turned me off at all and I absolutely can't wait. Hunt The Truth has also been an equally brilliant audio drama leading up to the game and the marketing has been really on point compared to Halo 4.

So yeah, I'm the one guy here is more excited than Pinkie Pie right now, bouncing up and down like a hyper little 6 year old as I count the days until launch :D

Nothing at all? Not the removal of splitscreen? Not them making forge and BTB post launch? I think Halo 5 is shaping up to look amazing (as long as they don't kill Arby x3 ) but it's far from perfect.

Never enjoyed split-screen Halo really, if I have friends round, we're usually outside doing stuff rather than playing games :D

BTB post launch is completely understandable because they want people to try out Warzone first (As it is effectively BTB evolved) and its only coming out a few weeks after launch.

Forge is an interesting one. It seems crazy to think that the 3 year development cycle wasn't long enough to fully nail down forge but after seeing it in detail and hearing forgers like Ducain23 discussing it all, I understand a lot better as to why Forge is delayed like it is. 343i can't afford another MCC. They need everything to work PERFECT at launch and if Forge isn't ready, they aren't risking anything, especially when the mode is as huge as it is compared to what it used to be. There's also the fact that it's being treated like it's own little game with constant updates, new content and new canvases as Halo 5 continues on.

Even if forge is amazing, it doesn't excuse it not being there. What if they had instead delayed something like campaign?

People'd be a lot more upset, yeah? Or would they just excuse it with the MCC again?

The phrase "another MCC" shouldn't even exist, the MCC was a cheap cash-in by Microsoft, and was considered the nail in Halo's coffin by many.

Split-screen removed may not bother you, but it's a huge step back for Halo as a franchise.

BTB should be in the game at launch, it isn't unfinished like Forge, and taking away content to force players to try out Warzone isn't the way to go about it. What if Warzone turns out to suck, and BTB fans have nowhere to go? They'll probably just go play Battlefront, ripping away a chunk of the Halo 5 playerbase, leaving their new mode dead and playerless. Will there even be a point to adding in BTB then?

I'm excited AF for H5, but 343i is doing some risky backwards stuff that just can't be overlooked. :/
