Viscra's Electronic Music Thread

Viscra Maelstrom

Recommended Posts

I heard one of the guys from mind.in.a.box is putting together a project where he won't be using any of his own sounds, but rather sounds clips the public send him. I love m.i.a.b and it sounds like it's gonna be pretty gitchy, so I'm pretty excited. :P

I've only heard of m.i.a.b

And that they are a good band

For any glitch music lovers

Though I'm really curious to see

How the track is gonna turn oout

*sigh* I miss the huge bass that I used to have on my beats..

Now they're worn out- BASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Sorry, just surfed on a dramatic rift for a bit. BUT ANYHOW, back to the topic.

HURRRR DUURRR SKRILLEX SUX DICK CUZ HE ISNT EVEN GOOD WIT DA WUB WUBZ

Well I guess it had to happen

Skrillex he isn't too bad

He can make a good growl bass

But that's all that he has

His leads are a little bit over used

Though if were gonna talk about him

I personally prefer his older stuff

Like Slats Slats Slats and No Mercy Only Violence:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PE3IslWaB4E

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_99MMG0Kr_0

I can agree with you on that. Skrillex's older songs sound much better then his newer ones.. WELL except for the devil's then. I like the techno-ish beat on the first and last drop. The second part of the song sucked though.

Anyhow:

The Devil's Den was fairly good

Definitely better than most of the other

Songs from his Bangarang-EP

Other than Summit, The Devil's Den

Is one of the more better songs that

He's done recently

Summit is pretty good. There is 2 problems with that song though:

1. The repetitive crap in that song. I honestly think he could take out at least 2-3 parts of that song and it will be a lot better.

2. For me the song wasnt all that catchy for being sort of dramatic (correct me if it wasnt aiming toward that). I could tell though that other people would definitely like it for Skrillex songs.

Other then that, another great Skrillex song c:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emu0vQ4bUiw

Also I got my bass back from my beats, but its not as muddy for how long ive abused them for.

For someone who is a fan of Skrillex's more Dubstep type songs

Summit would be hard to understand

And yeah Skrillex can do good remixes

Though to me:

Hey Sexy Lady > In For The Kill

Anytime of the day

Well, I actually listen to techno & drumNbass a lot so I tend to move away from Skrillex's songs.

AKA: This song.

Its more of a rainbow flow type dubstep with a lot of bass. And that girl that sings, its, its so HEAVENNLLYYYYYY-

cleanup on isle threehehe...

Now that's my type of modern EDM

A nice smooth and solid structured song

The vocalist is like a god damn angel

For some reason that song makes me think of this song a bit:

OH NO, NOT THAT SONG.

OH, OH GOD.

OHH GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

OHHH FREAKING GOD

THE BASS IN THAT SONG

*and trust me, its one of my favourite dubstep songs ever*

Oh and also, this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRjce7X2yxg

Called chilly dubstep. Mainly because its dramatic and doesnt have a dirty drop.

THE GIRL.

SINGS.

LIKE.

Eyes On Fire is definitely one of the better

Dubstep songs out there today

And I never knew about Blackmill until now

And I wonder why I haven't

Also while were on the topic of

Beautiful female vocalists

The vocals in some of the Morgan Page songs

Are simply amazing

Especially In The Air

Gah, cant watch it from here.

Ill listen to it after this one song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trKzvm-V5-U

Its a pretty odd song. Seems like it has a mix of both techno and a little dub.

Ahh..

Wobble bass.

I hate that phrase wobble bass. It should be 'wavy bass rift that somehow opened space time continual' or whatever the word is.

Well that sucks since it's such an amazing song

But I think I might have found one that would work

In whatever country that you live in right now

You could probably find the non extended version of it easier

But I just think that the extended mixes are always better

It allows me to get lost into the instrumentation more easily

Ok, 1 second into the song.

And I fell over for how crazy the beat is.

The only problem is my volume fluxuations on my computer. Seems like beats audio needs some debugging.

A minute in.

This is actually pretty good for a nice technoy bass song. Love the treble right now.

2 minutes in.

The next beat is also pretty good. My type is style is quite odd, but the girl in this so far has a nice voice.

3 minutes in.

OOOOOHHH BEAT.

4 minutes in.

Great beat with the girl again. GOTTA LOVE THIS. Oh hey, the beat ended for now, but im guessing something awesome might happen.

5 minutes in.

Meh, it wasnt too exciting (almost spelled excision) but its still really good. IM FEELIN IT~

6 minutes in.

WOAH, Different beat here. Sounds like an outro for the song. Still tons of bass.

Yep, outro.

7 minutes in.

I couldnt hit the ending because of how much bass the song had. Didnt want to ruin my beats.

SO overall its actually a really good song~

It's Morgan Page (One of the greatest modern house producers)

Along with BT (One of the legendary and original dance artists)

Sultan + Ned Shepard (Who I don't even know one bit)

And the vocals of Angela McCluskey (Who I only had heard of after that song)

So yeah it's gotta be an epic song

Also what speakers/headphones were you using while listening to the song

I just use normal ordinary everyday ones and they work fine with the song

I use Beats by Dre Studios, on my computer.

Also this is my settings for playing songs:

http://mlpforums.com/topic/206-what-are-you-listening-to-right-now/page-332#entry1124474

Its fairly balanced. Highs and mids are pretty good (but for some reason ive noticed a little distorting with both, but that's probably from playing my muxic at 100% volume) and bass is of course, overpowering.

Beats aren't the best choice of headphones for listening to Progressive House music

If you ask me I'm with the other people who think that they're really just

Plain overpriced headphones they should be 100$ at most

They aren't worth 400$

I have the This Place Will Grow EP on my computer

It was quite the good album

And Banned Forever is a great song choice

It's one of my favorites by him

Eh, most people go with that saying but overall they're actually quite nice.

Now most people though say they are overpriced piece of crap because of one thing: They dont listen to rap/electronic and instead, listen to more acoustic.

Beats arent designed for acoustic music, so they would be likely to fall hard in that genre. So if you're not a bass heavy guy who likes acoustic, then just go with Bose.

As you know me, I listen to dubstep, so beats are my choice of nice headphones. Im thinking of getting Mixr's once the Studios die since from reviews, they say they're the clearest, and least muddy (for bass) headphones on the Beats market.

Thanks. I've been meaning to listen to more by him, as everything I've heard so far has been awesome.  The only other ones I remember listening to are GABBERSTÄG and, of course, Intensive Care Unit.

Beats headphones are definitely not a piece of crap

But still even though they would sound amazing with rap and dubstep music

That's all they really are useful for beats are definitely not useful for electronic music in general

Because you're forgetting about Ambient, IDM, Witch House, Dark Ambient and all of the more atmospheric genres

The only electronic genres that I think Beats would be useful for is just plain Dubstep and the related genres

I can't really say anything more because I don't have a pair of them and I don't plan on getting them

Well, they actually work quite well with most deadmau5 songs, older techno, and even a little bit of Glitchy crap whatever the stupid name for it is.

Ive also heard that the Beats Exectutives are a more passive version of the studios, which means a little more clarity with a little less bass, which also means no muddy bass.

They still cost $300 though, but they look and sound far better then the Studios.

Still if I were to put on an Aphex Twin or Boards of Canada song then it probably wouldn't sound the best

The Beats Exectutives sound promising, though I still wouldn't wanna pay more than 100$-200$ for them

  • 2 weeks later...

How does the electronic thread keep on dying out over and over again?

Anyways, is there anyone here who is excited for any new albums that'll be coming out this year?

The two that I'm really excited for are Depeche Mode and Daft Punk

I haven't heard anything from the new Daft Punk album

But so far the Depeche Mode album sounds like it'll be awesome

it probably wouldn't have died so many times if i were the Crispy of this thread, which i am not (i find it exhausting to post videos to whatever music i listen to all the time here).

Depeche Mode making a new album? boy i think i need to catch up on their stuff sometime. i bought 5 singles from them some month ago in a store.

bought Igorrr's new album "Hallelujah". it's fucking glorious, just like everything else Igorrr makes, really.

lastly emancipator's new album, Dusk to Dawn. the first song in, you know it's good.

Here's an upcoming album by none other than D-Mind. He has seriously improved his sound lately.

Just...... THIS ALBUM !!! *drool*

Just in case... these are some promos that Jesper from LegendaryUploadzz got from D-Mind himself. If you're into the harder styles of dance music, I can highly recommend you to subscribe to LegendaryUploadzz. :)
