I still stand behind Trixie's redemption being really unnecessary, rushed, and terrible

She bought the Alicorn Amulet with the very purpose of revenge on both Twilight and the town, and then in the very end of the episode, she suddenly feels bad and asks for forgiveness literally out of nowhere.

Topped together with Trixie's secondary antagonist role in Rainbow Rocks(which I found a lot of fun), she clearly works better as a villain, and should have stayed that way.

Every other redemption has been rushed(except for Gilda's and Diamond Tiara's, which I think were the only good ones), but not totally unnecessary(except for maybe Discord's)

Trixie because 1) She wasn't bad in her first appearance, just a bit of an asshole (though you can say the same for most everyone in Boast Busters) and 2) her "Redemption" was so rushed and unexplored and amounted to a "Hey sorry I got all super-villain on you because I was corrupted by a magic artifact. I hope apologizing only to you Twilight makes up for the fact that I ran a totalitarian government and basically made the town into my own sweat shop and I won't have to say anything else to anyone else"

The Crystal Prep students, although, I am not sure if they are "reformed". They are at least no longer influenced by Cinch. I just hope that if they get involved with the next movie, that the rivalry between Crystal Prep and Canterlot High will still be there. I liked that rivalry and therefore I don't like it "if" they are "reformed".

Midnight Sparkle, at least not as quickly as she did. I wish we could have seen an epicly awesome fight scene between her and Shimmer but I guess they had to keep that TV-Y rating. -_- Bleh. She was still cool, she just did not do as much as I would have liked.

Every other character I am perfectly fine with.

Midnight Sparkle, in fact I would take it one step further. I would of made Human Twilight more of an antagonist than she was. It feels like she was supposed to be a bit more of a rival in the movie but it was edited by hasbro to make her likable.

Trixie was never really reformed - she'll likely come back and start up again with he ways. Without that, she's just not herself. She made things interesting.

The Crystal Prep students were never really reformed either. I'm not sure what happened to them at the end though.

I don't oppose having Midnight Sparkle reformed, but I think her villain period should have lasted longer. We only saw her for 5 minutes.

Diamond Tiara is WAY better as a a good pony than a bad one in my opinion. As a bad one she was unlikeable and annoying, but as a good one she's probably one of my favorites.

She never seemed like much of an antagonist in the movie to me, except at the end when she got a taste of ultimate arcane knowledge.

None of these characters seem like their was much story potential in keeping them as antagonists. Some say Trixie's redemption was rushed, which it might have been, but with Twilight turning into an alicorn, she wouldn't be much of a rival anyway.

I don't think Discord is actually "reformed". He's still chaotic and loves to create a little trouble every now and then and still struggles to be a good friend from time to time. Which is what I love about him. Reforming the spirit of chaos isn't exactly easy even for Fluttershy. He just....as Jerry Peet put it....switched his allegiance. The good that he DOES perform is mainly for Fluttershy...not for the good of Equestria. I fricking love him.

Sunset's reformation was the most rushed in my opinion, but I don't regret the reformation entirely. Her redemption journey was a bit slower and that's what I love about her. In fact, her reformation and redemption was what saved her in the franchise. The majority hated her guts in the first movie (I personally didn't like her because she wasn't developed, and was more like a jerkish brat...a cliche in teen flicks). It was CRUCIAL she reformed and then important to execute her redemption in the second movie. Hell....DT was a better "popular brat" than Sunset was. She's better reformed

Trixie.....was she reformed? Was she even evil in the first place? She was just a show off who got embarrassed. Her goal when steeling the alicorn gem was to redeem herself that's all. It was already said that when wearing the amulet, it'll corrupt them. Even the Mane six saw it a bit weird she was acting so nasty. Besides, at the end of the Magic Duel episode, she was still herself. "SEE HOW HUMBLE THE GREAT TRIXIE IS?".....she's still herself. Just with a better attitude

Babs....ugh now here's a subject I don't like. THAT'S a pony that shouldn't have been reformed but more so punished. Well...."punished" is way harsher than I mean for it to be. Babs was a bully and seriously trashed up the CMC in ways that should have been acknowledged. The least they could have done was tell her parents so she'll get grounded or SOMETHING. She got away with things too easily all because she was a victim of bullying herself. Even though this is a common thing, that does not excuse her behavior. She wasn't really bad or evil in the first place to be considered "reformed" in the end. She was just doing something to others that she KNOWS isn't right and how bad it feels to be a victim. She inflicted her own pain on someone else. I was just really disappointed in how the episode turned out.

DT......meh her issue was random and the episode wasn't all that great, but despite the cliche plotline for her, I think it's nice for her to have been reformed. Not only does it benefit the others, but it benefits herself since she's finally discovered how to use her talent or you could say she discovered what her REAL purpose was. I liked her as a brat, but I also like her as a ....nonbrat? lol

Gilda? I think it was good she was reformed. She was a bully who ended up shunned by her only friend for good reason, then in a later episode, she finally saw the error in her ways and I love how she didn't hit the "friendship" thing right away with the other Griffins. Their reformation will be slow and it's realistic that way. I like Gilda

Crystal Prep Students: did they reform? I just see them as competitive jerks. But when it came to them technically being on the same team: Team "Let's not get killed by midnight sparkle" I think they decided to help and put their rivalry aside. We didn't see much at the end. But I suppose reformation is a term we could use for them. I hope we see more of them though. I'm sure they will be better than how they were in  FG but not complete "angels"

Midnight Sparkle & Luna: I consider them the same since it was strong magic and their insecurities/deep bitter feelings that corrupted them in the first place. I wouldn't consider them reformed...they were just saved by another magical force that changed them into their evil counterparts.

Chrysalis still exists, so I vote for her, because they won't probably put her back into an episode, so I would be right. Starlight is definitely going to be reformed, she is a pony, and this is her second chance.

Forgot about her which I'm ashamed of since she was part of a great episode and part of one of the best musical numbers in MLP. I do hope to see her in a later episode though. maybe Twilight takes her in and tries to reform her using a pink fluffy pony named Flufflepuff but that sounds too ridiculous to come true

Yeah I got confused and was like "wait she is already reformed" but Starlight makes more sense. Speaking of Starlight.....*goes to create another topic*

I think all of them deserved a shot at redemption. Forgiveness and the like are such a big part of the show that it's stranger to see a villain not being forgiven, which so far has happened three times. I'm not counting Starlight yet since she'll make another appearance in the season final, but everyone mentioned in this list deserved their redemption IMO.

Diamond Tiara.

I think they could have handled her reform far better instead of having her do an heel turn just like that.

However I agree with the sentiment that everyone deserves a shot at redemption.
