Why does food always taste better re-heated the next day ?

I am surprised to see so many hate reheated pizza. :o I actually love it, though pizza is better when fresh and I just love pizza beyond belief, so that could be the reason. XD

There actually is one type of food that I do actually think is better when reheated or even cold; Chinese food. Something about it being chilled and not as hot as before makes it more appealing to me. Can't pinpoint an exact reason though.

Depends on the food. .

All of right-thinking humanity is on my side. Sandwiches are meant to be cut in half. You would never, unless under extreme duress or madness cut a hot dog in half. Picture yourself at a ball park, or even at a restaurant, cutting a hot dog and you will feel an instinctive, entire repulsion at the very thought of it. You can get a soup with a half sandwich, but you’d never serve a half hot dog with a soup. It’s the equivalent of cutting a pizza with a knife and fork. Pashman says anything “sandwiched is a sandwich.” He’s using the derivative verb to describe the sandwich, so he is proving the premise with itself; it is a complete logical fallacy. I hope they’ll openly boo him.

I like to eat most things cold. At my second to last job I was known for eating half frozen hot pockets. Is that an oxymoron? I love steak, best 5 to 10 minutes right off the grill but if there's left overs I'll never reheat it. Dries out the meat. Same for smoked brisket. Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, really good cold the next day. I don't reheat bacon, had some cold chicken noodle soup yesterday. I often ate my parents leftovers but they were cold by the time I got to them. Whenever I order a hot chocolate I normally let it cool down to room temperature. Rather than wait for cookies to cool down I just skip the cooking process and eat the raw dough. I know a good recipe that doesn't require eggs. Pastries and burgers I won't reheat, pizza is great not only cold but for breakfast. I do reheat things like pancakes and waffles but that's because they often absorb moisture when stored in Tupperware, and having it warm will melt the butter nicely. Honestly this is just rambling. For me most food doesn't taste better when reheated. Cooked vegetables which I rarely have might be the one thing I would reheat every time, particularly mashed potatoes. this isn't reheating, but sometimes I like to microwave my apples. I do it whole, makes them juicier in my opinion. be careful to not leave them in too long. Don't want to burn your mouth or clean up exploded bits.

You know how when you make a Sandvich, it doesn’t taste as good as when someone else makes the Sandvich for you? That’s because when you make a Sandvich yourself, you already have an idea of what it is gonna taste like, but if someone else makes you a Sandvich, it tastes better because you aren’t expecting the flavour. This also applies to reheating soup, in a way.

A good home made soup, or stew, does actually taste much better if left overnight and then re headed the next day, ya should try it :rarity:

Exactly! It somehow gives the flavors time to combine and enrich.
