Why do Bronies like Plushies?

My, my. Are those the life-sized? I'm saving up for one next year, good to know I'm not the only one with that motive! Oh, and it looks like Twilight's got Poison Joke, might wanna get that checked out ;)

Yeah they are, NeysaNight and Agatrix-made Lifesize pones, soft squishy cuddlehorses.  Do it, you will be so glad you did!  Hehe,  Well I just thought of a name for it, blanket-horn, when she's been under the covers all night it does that. :P

Eh, I just do whatever makes me happy!

Really? NeysaNight is who I'm going to buy from. He'll be done with requests in July 2017. How's his work? Is it stable? (Don't ask why) Are the socks detachable? (That's one I really want to know)

Stay away from the blankets of cotton, Your horn will surely be forgotten!

multiple reasons,

  • its a way for fans to show of their appreciation for the show and characters by having a plush of those ponies,
  • stuffed toys are a general love to have since childhood anyway. Heck if Im sleeping alone when my partner isnt home, Im always cuddled up to a plushie. Its a comfort thing.
  • some bronies are collectors so an official plushie would be part of said collections.
  • Its an art form, plushie making is an art form to some people. I certainly cant make one myself.
  • people like cute things.
  • since my little ponies are not something that exists in real life, this is the closest you will get to actually having a real one, unless you paint a real pony I guess.

this doesnt apply to just bronies you know. its a thing for any movie, game, film, book to have merchandise and plushies are popular because cute and cuddley things are popular in general. they make great nerdy decorations and like I already said, its a comfort thing to some people because of growing up with soft toys. Im certainly guilty of that one. Ive never not had a soft toy in my bed or room.

I'll give you a little plushmaker review, because any NeysaNight owner (or future owner) is a friend of mine.  Neysa is one of the friendliest plushmakers I know, she will respond to DA note after note after note when it comes to talking about her process and assuring you get what you desire. She's also open to trying new things, like Twilight's tongue, first time she did that!  Start sending her notes with any other questions if you haven't already!

Onto your questions: Yeah the socks are optional and slide off. Her work is known for the most durability out of anyone I know of for LS pones, built like a tank, she stitches everything twice or thrice, she backs the minky with another material for greater durability, (but it doesn't affect the pone's cuddly squishyness, just go with her regular amount of stuffing), her hand stitching is superb for the mane and wings etc-  done twice or thrice-over and in a way that reduces the wavy bumps you will see on many custom plushies, to practically nil. (for example my Derpy's neck, you can kinda see the wavyness, but Agatrix is known for making them really fast after all...) , Derpy had a seam pop already that I had to fix after only a couple months, an easy ladder stitch, but It's happened to a couple others too, my much older Neysa Dash is still rock solid after tons of cuddling.  So yes, you will be happy with your pone.

NICE! Glad to hear from someone on the inside! I've been following Neysa for about 4 months (ever since I saw the L-S AJ), I just hope she doesn't leave the fandom before I gather the money!
