Discord's counterpart spirit

We all now that discord is known as the spirit of chaos, but what if he had a counterpart? Could there be a (non-pony) spirit of order?

I thought he was called the spirit of chaos?

I always assumed he was not the only spirit of chaos as well. He calls himself a spirit of chaos sometimes, which for a while lead me to believe that there were more. Cheerilee also refers to him as a draconequus. Which lead me also to believe there were more of his species. It's left ambiguous I suppose and Hasbro has never said head or tails what it's supposed to mean sadly. However I imagined if he had a counterpart they would never show themselves because the nature of an order spirit would be jeopardized by people knowing of the spirit's existence. People knowing a deity or demi-deity walking among them generally makes for chaos, not order.

If there was some sort of counterpart spirit it would be that of the spirit of harmony such as the Alicorn from Rainbow Rocks or the Tree of Harmony being Discord's opposite.

This is probably what the Elements of Harmony are, as they seem to be the one thing that can easily defeat him. Harmony is more powerful than chaos in Equestria. It would be really cool though to see another creature that is the spirit of Harmony though, I imagine it being a female draconequus

I would assume the Tree of Harmony is more like his counterpart since it's elements has always been the only thing to defeat him head on. It was also the one thing that pushed back his counterattack when he planted those seeds. But....

 

It is an interesting thought. At one point I watched an episode from Inkspell...an awesome person who puts a lot of thought in headcanons. In hers, there WERE more like Discord, but he remains the last one. I don't 100% agree on everything else, but I do think he remains the last of his species which could explain why he is referred to as THE spirit of chaos.

Well, granted it sometimes seems like Discord just calls himself the God of Chaos and I'm sure at one point during the show he straight-up said he was. Though he does seem the sort to give himself titles. Think parts of the fandom like to think of Alicorns as being the counterpoint to Draconequui, so maybe Celestia is supposed to be the Spirit of Harmony. Had a good link given to me about one Greivousfan's(I think it was) rather detailed headcannon about draconequui in the thread I started when I asked what a Draconequus actually was, but now I can't find the bloody thing on the website. But I digress.

 

Have this idea of an antithesis to Discord, a Spirit of Order. A sort of huge, polygonal ice-giant-looking fellow the like of which one usually sees as Ice Giants in MMOs and fantasy games. See him being a minor villain of sorts, as to keep Order one has to stop change, and if you stop change you end life & growth.

Too much of anything can be fatal!...Think I've lost my original point now...

The Tree of Harmony would be the counterpart. Nothing seems to be as powerful as it. It seems even Discord can't do anything to it directly though he was able to weaken it with the plunder seeds and only in the state in which it didn't have the Elements of Harmony still powerful enough to resist the effects of the plunder seeds for a long time.

I would think harmony is a balance of order and chaos.

 

Taking inspiration from the World of Darkness maybe the spirit of order is a giant spider and Discord and the mane six have to fight it before it wraps all of Equestria in it's webs.
