I see. Well, I'm not sure what is your position right now, but whatever you think is your calling and where you are most happy, go for it regardless. However, you'll need to have a plan to figure out what you will do and how you will do it (and try to find a way to monetize (earn money) based on your career choice).

Take myself for instance, I have studied Digital Video Production and I had experience with it for about 8-9 years or so (probably more), so experience is very valuable.

If you ever want to make any content, do not let the lack or quality of your equipment stop you from making it. I still have my Canon EOS 70D from 3 years ago and it still works really well, despite it having a lack of 4K recording.

If you are in ever of a need for more inspiration and motivation, I could refer you to some sources if you want.

To be honest the only real good peace of equipment I have is a powerful computer. We got it back in April of 2013 and it's got the best consumer grade hardware that was available at the time. The CPU is an Intel I7 8core CPU from the 2012 line of Intel chips. The thing with the graphics card is that it was the absolute best back when we got the PC but it's already starting to become obsolete with modern PC games even though it's only around four years old now. And I pretty much get all of my motivations and ideas from my theory database in my head. But still if there was some university project where they where working on a mind based animation and image generation program then that's when I would really take off. It's already something that they are working on in a number of universities around the world but still I've created some pretty good YouTube poop videos on my IPad using IMovie but still the amount of funny editing in them is highly limited by the limit of features in IMovie for IOS. Really in the end the real limit of what I can do with producing video content is lack of money that my parents want to put forward to it. It's just my parents are not interested and motivated enough to get a proper video camera or get high quality video editing software. But still I've noticed that I don't actually need that much experience to learn how to do things when it comes to prediction in things and I might perfect something very quickly with only hours of experience but still it then gets capped by my brain's hardware limitations like my intelligence.

That is why @Techno Universal, as much as you may or may not want to hear this, you need to get second part-time or full-time job in order to earn yourself money in the sort term in order to afford the gear you want to get. I would advise that you start small and basic. Then once you are ready, go a little higher budget than before (not too big tho).

If you take a look at my LinkedIn Profile, you can see that I not only operated my video production business, but I had to do other paid jobs in the meantime as I needed to earn the money to be able to afford the equipment I needed as soon as possible. I may not have liked doing those jobs, but I needed the money at the time. And I am considering applying for a part-time job of my choice nearby, but it may or may not happen depending on how many jobs for my business I am able to accumulate overtime.

TL;DR: You need to get some extra cash-flow somewhere and not only depend on your parents (like a second part-time job or something). Cuz quite frankly, I really want to move out of my parent's place ASAP so badly.

I'm currently trying to get a part-time job at the McDonald's up the road from my house but I'm just waiting around until they have job openings. Plus I'm really only going to have time for one 4 hour shift every Saturday because during the week I've got school commitments like after school activities and because I live quite a distance from school it takes me over an hour usaly to get to and from school by public transport. Just remember that I'm almost 16 and the McDonald's near my house was strictly not hiring anyone that was under the age of 16 so I couldn't get a job when they where hiring late last year. Hopefully I can get a job there later this year. But still for a video camera I might end up getting an old second hand one from my school as they have some old 1080P cameras from 2008. The cameras are professional grade and they cost around 6,000$ each when they where brand new. The school doesn't really need them anymore as they got a set of better video cameras last year.

At your age, you are at a much better position than I am right now as I have some catching up to do.

What I mean is, at your age, you have plenty of time to improve on your skills, talents and also build up a name/reputation of yourself.

There is one thing with me that's probably a real advantage with the production of things and that's my ability to literally work on tasks like a computer. Like I'll literally be 100% focused on the task until it's complete or I can but usually I run out of time for the day and I have to continue the next time I have a chance to work on the task. Anyways this is an artwork I made at school late last year using Copic markers and it's on A1 sized paper so it's actually massive! That's just an example of what I'm capable of when I have the right equipment to do the project!

I happen to have high functioning autism, and I'm really struggling right now.

While I have a good portion of my issues out of the way, I still haven't been able to get my life back on track. See, a lack in judgement caused me to fall in with the wrong crowd online, and I almost ended up living near, and possibly being taken advantage of by a really bad person I met on an online group. I don't want to reveal a lot of it out on a public forum, but if you want to know, PM me and I'll tell you. Anyways, ever since then, I haven't been able to go forward in life, and that was around the time I was 18 - I'm almost 22 and I haven't had a job since then, no saved up income, and haven't been able to find a job since then. But I still hold out hope that something will come up, and I have you guys to keep me in good spirits.

To be honest my own ability of judgement has just exploded in recent years because of me becoming a lot more intelligent than normal. I'm actually a really nice and trustworthy person but still I'm so intelligent to the point where I'm capable of using other people without them noticing it but still I would never use anyone for my own enjoyment like how people used you. The thing is that I could use someone to expose them of something bad they did if I'm compelled to like if they're the sort of person who tries to use people like you. Well, time to revive a dead thread. What I’m going to say is t going to make me any friends and could be highly offensive to some HOWEVER!

 

I honestly do believe autism along with adhd are the most overdiganosed disorders of all time. Don’t act perfectly the way society deems “normal” then you simply must be labeled with a disorder of some kinds of another. Also with the incline of technology over the past 25 years and instant cummincation at any time it takes out the need to go out and socialize in person like we used to have to. So if you are say, a video game enthusiast and spend 10 hours a day behind a screen I makes sense thst one would lose many of their social skills as they just got out of practice. There is actually a study out of the u.k. That talks about this very topic. Just because some smartass with some fancy degree says you don’t act “normal” does not mean you have to have a label stamped on your head.
