Avoiding "That That" In Writing?

Sorry if this topic has been done already. I looked in the past couple of pages and didn't see anything like it.

 

Anyway, how can I avoid having to use a double 'that' in a story of mine and keep it sounding good? Specifically, the sentence I want to change is "There's something about the way she said that that bothers me."

Alternatively "There's something about the way she said it that bothers me."

 

The context could make it sound weird though.

"There's something about the way she said that thing, it really bothers me."

"There's something about the way she said that, I don't trust it." (Or like it, or whatever the context is)
