general questions Where to post theories?

This may sound stupid as i'm not that new to this site and my first post was a theory but I never really knew where to post them?

 

I mean the first theory I posted was (in my opinion) a rather interesting and well thought out theory if not a long one, but it got next to no views and no responses (probably because it was named badly) but these days I have a almost 2 to 1 post to brohoof ratio (having only 2900ish post's and over 1600 brohoof's) 

 

I mean I really like making theories, hell it was originally the reason I joined this site in the first place was because I had quite a few of them.

 

I know it was probably because the post was way too long and I used to post them on theory sites so people liked them long but it is a little off putting when you put that much work into something and people are like "meh" but it might have been because it was in the wrong place (Sugarcube Corner)

 

Sorry about the rant...So my question is where would people expect to see a theory/where do I post them?

It would depend on the subject matter, Colts.

 

If it has something to do with the show, then take your theory to Show Discussion.

 

I myself , have a couple theories already in there and they haven't been locked or moved, so I believe that's it's a proper place to post them. 

 

If it's a theory on MLP, yet has parts that refer to other types of media in the franchise such as the MLP novels and comic books. 

 

Then Sugarcube corner is the place to go.

 

 

EqG theories are for the EqG Section. 

 

 

If the theory has nothing to with MLP then Media discussion is probably your best bet.

It is a theory about the show but it doesn't involve any characters or episodes as it is more about MLP logic (sorta) more how magic works and how it affects Earth ponies and Pegasi?
