Kerrigan's gaze was drawn towards the swimming competition at the sound of the starting pistol. It looked as though Blitz was taking part, though much to her surprise she didn't not see the shark boy from yesterday. He would have doubtlessly mopped the proverbial floor with all of them. Perhaps he had opted out as a show of sportsmanship, given the decided advantage he would have held. A moment later, an attractive hawk girl landed near her and spoke up.

 

 

 

Scarlet exited the bathrooms wearing a two piece black bikini with a lining made of her own feathers and noticed a dragoness that seemed to be overseeing the festival. An idea then came to mind as to how she would interact with the dragoness, and she walked towards her. "Hey, I'm looking for a friend of mind. He's a dragon with blue markings. Have you seen him?" She asked when she was close enough.

 

"As a matter of fact, I have. He is currently swimming in the competition," Kerrigan said, pointing out at the lake. "And doing fairly well, consdering that dragons are not typically fond of swimming, at least in my experience. I prefer dry land or the skies myself. Your friend is an interesting sort of dragon," Kerrigan said. This was, no doubt, the woman Blitz had spoken of yesterday. A cursory examination showed that, as far as Avians went, she was fairly attractive, and resourceful enough to find use of her own discarded plumage as well. Kerrigan admired resourcefulness and intellect, and from a purely aesthetic perspective even admired the physical forms of others, though she had no desire whatsoever for companionship in the intimate sense. "You just missed the start of the race, though I am certain it will not take much longer to determine a victor."

"Dude," Kronos replied after swallowing his food, "Swallow what's in your mouth first, geez."

After swallowing his food, Blob replied, "Sowwy. What's going on? Why are we here?"

 

"Welp," Kronos replied, "This is one of the many events happening that we so happen to not be in."

Malfoy caught the sight of Apep making her way back to where he had been waiting patiently for the two to get ready.

 

As Apep mention that Gemma was still getting ready he simply nodded at Apep. "Alright I guess now I'll have some to wait with for the moment." He said with a slight smile.

 

The wolf blushed faintly once again as Apep asked him how she looked. It was often he was asked to rate a girl's appearance. "Um, you look good as always. I like how your top works with your natural scales.

"That's actually a good point. From the looks of things I don't see any aquatic based creatures participating, So its possible its spit into two or this is by chance a coincidence. While this is an event it doesn't feel like they would organise two event just for that reason, so I think its the latter. I don't know much about organising an event." Shizuko continued to watch the race as it happened. A few of the contenders really stood out among the rest, considering the amount of races here, it wasn't really a surprise that some would be better than others naturally. Who would win thought was still to be determined and anyone would take it at this point.

"Well at least there seems to be somewhat fair contest, that's all I was really thinking about don't want anyone with an unfair edge." She watched on with Shi happy in the fact her brother would be happy with her staying with her in this crowd of people.

Blitz noticed that the cat he had spoken to earlier was in the lead, and gave a slight smirk. "He won't win that easily." He thought, before propelling himself forward. The dragon then noticed an opening between the border of the race lane and JR, and took it, passing the cat. "Come on. Let's see what you can do." He said in an attempt to encourage the cat, before plowing through the water.

"Thanks. I bought last summer, and I'm glad it still fits." She said, before noticing that the the swimming race had already started. "Aww, looks like I was to late for that." The snake then gave a slight smile and glanced at Malfoy. "Oh well. At least I can spend more time with you."

"To be honest, I didn't really expect him to want to come here when I asked him about it yesterday, given the way he spoke. I could tell he wasn't fond of talking to other by the way he spoke to me yesterday, but I'm glad he seems to be enjoying himself." The avian then remembered something, before turning to face the dragoness next to her. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Scarlet. May I ask who you are?"

Malfoy looked back at the race off the shore a small distance away. "Oh sorry, I'm sure you would of had more fun participating in the race then being stuck here with me." He said slightly regretfully before he turned back to her. "I bet you would of beat all of them rather easily. Since serpent bodies make swimming an easier task."

​JR had a slim body, but he didn't have an athlete's level of stamina. By the time he reached the halfway point, which was the 50 meters out, he was already breathing heavily. His ears pounded like a hammer as all he could feel was the sense of the waves hitting all around. No wonder cats hated the water. But not this one. Once the dragon passed him, he dove under temporarily and rose above and beyond after switching sides. The first one to shore would win it. ​"Here we go....here we go!"

 

 

 

Denise noticed Mary's distant response, and she looked down at her. She had a dreamy look on her face, and the rat followed her gaze to the more buff competitors in the race.

 

A smirk crossed her face as she nudged her friend. "So, who're you eyeing up? C'mon, I won't tell~"

The boys were pretty buff, she could admit, but she was never into total jocks.

Apep nodded slightly and gave a slight smile. "Nah. I'm not really that athletic. The cat has a better chance of winning than me." She said. "By the way, I doubt I would have more fun swimming than spending time with you." The snake was honestly tempted to wrap a small portion of her body around the wolf, but didn't really know how well he would react. Instead, she simply gave him a quick, friendly hug.

Blitz smirked as rounded the turn and put all his energy into one final push. He could feel his muscles and lungs aching, but wasn't about to give up.

Malfoy smiled at Apep's words but then froze for a second when he found that she wrapped her arms around him. He blushed before returning a quick friendly hug on her. 

 

After a second he released her and smiled at her. "Thanks, usually I don't get out much so the matter of me being pleasant company was always an unsure thing for me."

Ocean strolled along the beachfront some few hundred metres down the coast from where a substantial audience had gathered to watch a swimming race. She enjoyed alone time spent walking slowly through town, doing a bit of window-shopping, but today was a wonderful day and she wasnt so by her lonesome on the beautiful beach. She could hear some distant cheering and decided, eventually, to head over out of curiosity to see who was competing.

 

Ocean jogged steadily to where there was a crowd observing the water race. She stopped a good distance away from the rest of those gathered and city,d inky make assumptions as to who was winning. She took a seat on a towel she had set down after pulling it out of her bag (a black and vibrant blue backpack), curling her tail relaxedly around her legs.

​JR pushed himself as hard as he possibly could. He tried his best, but knew he couldn't win this. His mind wasn't set on placing first. His mind was on showing that some cats enjoy water, and that's all that mattered to him. He slowed down a bit, not caring about the lead anymore as he started to enjoy himself. The cheers of the crowd grew closer as the shore was near.

"I had noticed some hesitancy in his responses yesterday as well, during our conversation on the beach while I was basking. I suspect he may be feeling anxious about coming here, though the reasons for it are numerous," Kerrigan replied, shifting her gaze from the water to the beach. Thus far, there had been little more than the typical testosterone-overloaded meatheaded males making idiots of themselves to impress the females, but nothing untowards or violent had occurred. Kerrigan kept a stern eye towards the beach though, if shenanigans were going to happen, it would naturally be there.

 

"Well met, Scarlet. My name is Hannibal Kerrigan, or just Kerrigan. My clan's naming traditions reverse the order of family and given names from what is common among other species," Kerrigan said, offering a handshake. "This is not usually my idea of a good time, but as I provided substantial funds for the festivities, it seemed appropriate that I be on hand to ensure they were well spent."

One of the nearby muscular dog boys had actually won. He and all the other more muscular dudes were cheering as the females surrounded them in awe. It's as if they knew he would win.

​JR however, finished last, and crawled weakly onto the sand. He was like a cheetah in the water: Fast but can't last. He looked up at the boys who were posing as they had placed higher, and rolled his eyes. He could swear he heard an insult or two about how a little kitty couldn't stand the water, but didn't care about it.

He looked at Blitz and nodded at him, ​"GG, brother."

"I have enjoyed your company as well and to think we met over me running into you with a shopping cart." He joked with a slight chuckle before giving her a light tap on the shoulder not realizing she was slightly distracted.

She had to admit, hanging out with someone like this was actually pretty fun. She never did a lot of offline socialising since she moved to the town, but it was pretty cool.
