Is the time when people usually wake up a good time to release an episode?

I told my mother that I want to stay up late tonight to watch MLP while everyone is sleeping. However, to my horror the episode comes out at nine o clock in the morning, which means that if I go to sleep now, which is four o clock, then I'll have an eight hour sleep probably, resulting in waking up at about twelve, and then I'll probably be sleeping in, resulting in even more wasted time, and my brother will probably be down in the basement before me. If I just simply stay awake until the episode releases, I'll just be tired and bored through the whole wait and I'm just waiting for twenty two minutes of ponies. Now, let me ask you. Is it normal for episodes of shows to release at a similar time, or is it more common for episodes to air at, say, five in the morning? Either way, I think that MLP episodes should come out a few hours earlier.

Cartoons in the US, from the 60s through the 2000s, aired on broadcast networks in a Saturday morning timeslot, and it was linked to a certain ritual of getting up early on Saturdays that the generations who grew up in that period fondly remember. Cable networks are keeping up that tradition by airing new episodes of shows aimed at younger audiences on Saturday mornings. Other cartoons that skew older premiere in primetime slots.

I have no idea how or why children get up that early, instead of sleeping in till noon like the rest of us. I was gonna get up to watch the new episode live, but I still haven't seen the season premier, so I said "buck it' and shut off my alarm. didn't get up till an hour ago, so I guess I needed the sleep.

When i was young in the 90s, cartoons where shown between 6 AM and 12 PM on Saturday morning on several channels. For me, 9 AM was always the time for me to wake up, to catch up on my favorite shows.

 

So no, it's the right time for me.

 

But for MLP, i have no real opinion. Since i am from Europe and i see the episodes in the afternoon.

MLP's low ratings during S5 and the S6 are partly due to Saturday Morning cartoons dying. It's not the only factor, or even the biggest, but it's a factor.

I don't know about you, but as a kid I had more energy and an earlier bedtime than I do now. I wasn't going to spend my day off from school sleeping longer, I was going to actually use that time, including watching cartoons.

I live in the east coast, so it doesn't air until 11:30 in the morning for me (11:00 when the episode is a 2 parter). I would recommend waking up an hour before the episode airs so you can have time to do whatever you usually do in the morning.

The episodes start at 11:30am for me, which is pretty reasonable. Really, this question depends a lot on your sleeping pattern and how the weekend affects it. For me, I am fine with the starting time.

I agree, but for me I think I worked out that it airs for me at 3AM (0300) on Sunday ... For me I can't sleep at night so that helps but I usually watch them later anyways because at that time of the morning the last thing I want to watch is MLP, so yea

damn, its insane to think back on when I'd wake up at 6am for cartoons as a kid compared to how I sleep till noon now :/

No, I didn't get up at four, I stayed awake till four. I would be willing to nearly kill myself with a lack of sleep for some good MLP to watch.
