Nuke87654 1,849 April 22, 2016 Share April 22, 2016 Why didn't spike burn the timberwolves? I would say is because they feel timber wolves being defeated by a rock is funnier for what they had in mind for em.
ggg-2 3,552 April 23, 2016 Share April 23, 2016 .....Because of the the fact that, despite being made of wood, Timberwolves are still sentient? Would YOU want to show a character burning a living creature alive? At least when they're beaten into pieces, they can still reform. 3 Don't be a nerd. Join the herd! DND 2,355 April 23, 2016 Share April 23, 2016 Hey, @BRONYWARLORD Your title was lacking proper solidity so I've gone ahead and taken the liberty into changing it to something more specific to the context. May I suggest perhaps adding a touch more to your description as well?
Castle Bleck 19,319 April 23, 2016 Share April 23, 2016 (edited) Because according to Equestria Games, his firepower (*rimshot!*) is influenced by his state of mind. And since his state of mind at that time was effectively 'OMGWTFBBQ!!!'... yeah, that s*** just wasn't happening. Luminance 2,186 April 23, 2016 Share April 23, 2016 Spike sees the timberwolves as living breathing beings and that prevented him from using his fire. Also being disintegrated into pieces of wood seems to be less graphic that to be burned alive.
cmarston1 5,959 April 23, 2016 Share April 23, 2016 (edited) Well seeing as how the timberwolves have the ability to reassemble themselves, how do we know that if Spike tried using his fire breath on them, they wouldn't come back. Also seeing as MLP FIM is rated TVY I highly doubt that seeing one of the main characters flat out destory living creatures would be out of the question. (That is assuming Spike's dragon fire would destroy the timberwolves) Edited April 23, 2016 by cmarston1
Slashy 101 April 23, 2016 Share April 23, 2016 Well seeing as how the timberwolves have the ability to reassemble themselves, how do we know that if Spike tried using his fire breath on them, they wouldn't come back. Also seeing as MLP FIM is rated TVY7 I highly doubt that seeing one of the main characters flat out destory living creatures would be out of the question. (That is assuming Spike's dragon fire would destroy the timberwolves) It is rated TV-Y. It would be out of the question! It is the same reason why Sunset Shimmer didn't threaten Twilight/Spike's life in Equestria Girls.
Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,298 April 23, 2016 Share April 23, 2016 Does Spike really have much control over his fire breathe at this point? I don't think he would even be able to use it to that level of effectiveness.
Mand'alor Dash 2,224 April 23, 2016 Share April 23, 2016 Because he'd cause a forest fire and kill everyone. Or he may just end up sending the wolves to Celestia, which wouldn't end well either. cider float 2,537 April 24, 2016 Share April 24, 2016 (edited) I don't think Spike is the type to think that his fire could cause a forest fire before it's too late as he's quite clumsy and can't plan things through and he wouldn't try and use his fire or fight back as well because he's sort of a sissy. TL;DR version: Spike is a sissy and he's not smart Edited April 24, 2016 by cider float
CT-1138 3,182 April 25, 2016 Share April 25, 2016 Wouldn't that be sort of cruel? I mean, I know they're nasty creatures and all, but they're still plantimals. They act on instinct as much as any other wolf. Love is a most potent magic My FiMFiction | My DA | My Facebook
BRONYWARLORD 4 April 25, 2016 Author Share April 25, 2016 Wouldn't that be sort of cruel? I mean, I know they're nasty creatures and all, but they're still plantimals. They act on instinct as much as any other wolf. I don't think it would be cruel because the timberwolves are not creatures they are being controlled by some spirit. The spirit is what is making the wood come to life. I think spike can willfully use fire. Spike can be baby sometimes....

Umm pretty sure the way the Timberwolves display separate emotions makes them pretty sentient to me. And even if a spirit is controlling them if you kill the body you did kill it... because the spirit is released. PiratePony 8,475 April 25, 2016 Share April 25, 2016 Imagine the chaos that would happen if the Timberwolves would reek if running around on fire. They'd burn the whole Everfree Forest down. SilverStarApple 849 April 25, 2016 Share April 25, 2016 Because Spike is a friggin idiot. Or because he didn't want to teleport them into Celestia's house and deal with an angry sun goddess getting timberwolves in the mail. 1 I was dead until the moment I met you. I was a powerless corpse pretending to be alive. Living without power, without the ability to change my course, was akin to a slow death. silvadel 1,393 April 25, 2016 Share April 25, 2016 I was about to post because he didn't want to put a timberwolf in Celestia's court and then I see just ahead of me someone else said similar. 1 Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.
sweetolebob18 728 April 30, 2016 Share April 30, 2016 (edited) Also, can Spike teleport living things? Just off hand, ICR him teleporting anything but scrolls. + in It's About Time, he scorched Twilight but didn't kill her. The only thing worse than a bunch of timber wolves would be a bunch of timber wolves pissed off because you scorched them Edited April 30, 2016 by sweetolebob18
TheGamerDerpy 7 June 3, 2016 Share June 3, 2016 Maybe Spike was to afraid to realize HE WAS A FIRE BREATHING DRAGON! When people are afraid, they don't think straight.
