gaming Battlefield 1 VS Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Really hard to compare two juggernauts of the FPS era these days besides DOOM, so I'm going with Battlefield 1 for this because my soft spot for shooters taking place during the two World Wars intrigue me. Though, it is an alternate timeline to it.

I think they both look good and i am glad they are both releasing such different games because it gives variety between the two. Whether you like futuristic or old settigs you are covered now so it's pretty cool.

I think because it has become popular to hate on CoD though that is swaying peoples opinions though. People should just play what they want instead of jumping on any hype train or hate train thats popular. They both look alright so whoop!

Btw i will not be buying either as the amount of awesome games coming out this year is staggering and i wont have time for them.

Honestly, as wishful as I want to be... Infinite Warfare will sell well like all CoDs do.

i would like to see how battlfield 1 does on lauch day as it shows promise now IW however not so much but to be honest call of duty has been on the decline since around black ops two and i stopped buying after that. call of duty is still trying to keep up and frankly it cant and i can see not many more games coming from them depending on sales i think IW will only do well becouse half the people that buy it on want the remaster of cod 4 (which is a scummy thing for activision to do and not sell seprate)

Call of Duty looks like the same boring arcadey FPS that it's always been. Battlefield is at least trying something different this time, and although some of the important WW1 countries will be DLC, it looks infinitely more interesting.

It might not be the case this time.

As of 14 May, CODIW had 33 014 and 30 455 preorders on PS4 and X1 respectively, whereas last year the preorders for BO3 was 423 456 and 287 509 for X1 and PS4 respectively. This may not be indicative of how many copies of the game they will sell in November, but it's clear that many have lost interest based on those numbers.

I hope CODIW will sell badly. It would hopefully give them the incentive to make some much needed changes to the game (for me among them would be removing the freemium-esque feature of buying in-game currency to buy a chance to get locked weapons, to return to 2D movement, and to return to historical settings rather than have the game take place in the future). Activision needs to wake up from its decadence.

Honestly, Call of Duty Infinite Warfare is 'good' for people looking for a futuristic title.

But let's get real, WW1 and WW2 games haven't been very mainstream for over a decade, so I think it's time they start producing these amazing historical treats again.

Futurism is getting overrated, sure I mean, who doesn't love a good energy sword or spaceship? But games like Halo, Crysis, even Fallout for god sake has wore out the 'futuristic' theme.

Honestly, the only thing left decent in the Call of Duty franchise is Zombies, which has gotten worse over the years with maps like Tranzit and Shadows of Evil.

It's time for Activision, Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward, and Treyarch to get get their stuff together or they're gonna go bankrupt and go down in history as one of the most tragic bankruptcies besides Atari.
