TheAnimatorOfficial 567 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 I mean really? MLP itself stands out because it features an escape from reality with it's bizarre fantasy and own life. Equestria Girls on the other hand is like every high school anime out there. Sure, it's more ambitious than High School Musical, but otherwise I could watch School Days and get the same experience. Granted the films aren't awful, but I don't see why Hasbro should make a 5th film. The toy sales are dropping like flies and it's just not marketable to a wider-scale audience like the ponies can be. Megas 27,652 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 (edited) Toys sales, just like FiM. Hell, the reason sales declined with FG was because it didn't get nearly as much exposure as the first two did, while LoE is coming off the heels of the Minis which have been really successful for Hasbro Edited July 19, 2016 by Megatron
cmarston1 5,959 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 As long as the toys are still selling, then Hasbro has reasons to continue the franchise, just like FIM. While I wouldn't really want to see a 5th movie, I would love to see an EQG mini series or actual cartoon series.

Your analysis is not entirely accurate. The Minis aren't doing poorly, so it is unfair to categorize the line as 'dropping like flies'.
Mesme Rize 15,683 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 I also don't really like the Equestria Girls (except for maybe Rainbow Rocks, which i find okay.) But to say that the toys sell poorly is just not true. Hasbro just said on their investors meeting yesterday, how well their EQG Minis are selling and that alone gives them all the right, to make more movies. 2 My OC Mesme Rize: >https://mlpforums.com/page/roleplay-characters/_/mesme-rize-r8777 Thank you Randimaxis for this Wonderful Avatar. PiratePony 8,475 July 19, 2016 Share July 19, 2016 @@TheAnimatorOfficial, I edited your title to include "Equestria Girls" so it stands out more clearly in the main feed. To answer the question...I have no idea. I enjoyed the first three, and there was a DVD set I bought. Did that sell well? I'm not sure. We'll see how the ratings/toy sales for the new one is when it comes out if they will continue with part five. Also, the minis also looked really show accurate compared to the Barbie sized dolls, so that may have added to the sale figures. Maybe they'll release more of those and keep the films pumping. 3 Courtesy of @Sparklefan1234
Evil_Emperor 176 July 20, 2016 Share July 20, 2016 I keep seeing this thread. Marketing toys of cute girls has a much wider market than colorful cartoon horses originally intended for small girls. Come on, you know the kind of people who buy toys of cute girls... I'm not so much talking about the dolls though as I am the Minis and the potential other toy lines they could do with it. Struggle as we may to rationalize anything counter to it, colorful talking cartoon ponies for girls has a stigma of sorts which keeps a lot of people away from buying toys of them. Summer Wish 102 July 23, 2016 Share July 23, 2016 I just bought two sets of the dazzling mini (one for the office desk) a rainboom collection and shadowbolt collection on order....now for the principles...bwaaahaha. But in all reality. Relax. You can hate the series of films, just keep it to yourself. Man I hoe they make a Gaia mini, was getting major she demon vibes...oh man oh man imagine if Sunny goes SD mode and the two fight! Finally I can get my Demons vs Angela fight! Shameless plug for my Sundagio fic! http://www.fimfiction.net/story/298802/the-song-of-summer
Steve Piranha 29,424 July 24, 2016 Share July 24, 2016 While the main toyline has dropped in sales as time went on, I'm not sure it's as bad as to drop it entirely. Plus, the new minis are actually doing well, the worst it can happen soon, is drop the main toys and keep the minis, either way, the movies will keep coming Sig by Discords
