-a magical blade that cuts through most things as he channels his vampiric magic into it.

 

Him being a vampire makes it hard for him to survive during day time, can die like any other vamp.

I just thought I'd mention this because this has been bugging me.

 

The first thing I'm taking issue with is Blood's sudden proficiency with magic simply by sticking a unicorn horn on top of her head.  I'm willing to accept a lot of headcanons, but this is a little far-fetched for me, especially because Blood is an earth pony who, as far as I know, would have no idea what it is like to have a horn or how magic moves through a unicorn's horn.  You could say it's because of the nameless device she's put it into, but you haven't even described what it is, what it looks like, or how it allows an inexperienced earth pony to cast spells like a unicorn, let alone where she got it.

 

The other thing is how I've noticed that, in your combat with @, you have been forcing actions on him without giving him any ability to respond and negate that action.  Dropping the magazine on his pistol was borderline acceptable, but then ripping the gun out of his paws and then completely levitating him off the ground was too much for me.  Besides the fact that you gave him no chance to negate your action, it also begs the question of if unicorns are powerful enough to end all fights as quickly as you just did, then what's the point of bringing any other race into this?  What advantage do other races have over unicorns, or are unicorns just privileged demigods?

 

TL;DR - Your interpretation of unicorn magic gives it way too much power and Blood should not be so proficient with it given that she has only possessed a horn for a few minutes.

Hiya. I do apologize on that. 

 

In my honesty though, its kinda difficult to attack without try to seem to inflict some sufficent damage. I couldn't describe it either way. I wasn't aiming to do an instant kill attack. Though in reality- you wouldn't just give your attackers a light poke you're gonna do your best to sufficiently injure them. 

 

If you have any advice on how I should word it differently or go about it do share.

I'm at a blank right now on that. There is a couple of ways to avoid an instant kill, but most of them result in you looking like an idiot. (Slipping, accidentally dropping the weapon, etc)

Combat between two or more roleplayers is really hard as both players typically have a reason to want their characters to win.  Communication is important, and it might be a good idea to decide ahead of time who would win and what the desired outcome will be.

 

If nothing else, the best thing I can suggest is to take action according to common sense and your own character's ability.  For example, if your character doesn't have any weapons training, it would be common sense to assume that they won't be able to out-shoot someone WITH weapons training unless it was agreed upon by both parties that they got lucky.
