YES! I grew up on Goosebumps as well! I often bought the books form the Schoolasitc Club things every few months when they came out. The first one I read and one of my favorites is Deep Trouble, and most of the choose your own adventure ones.. I would have to say that the new movie, with Jack Black in it as R.L Stein was..,mediochre at best

I did the same as a kid when it came to getting the books and Deep Trouble was not a bad read and I agree I never saw the Goosebumps movie with Jack Black in it I feel it did not really bring what made Goosebumps, Goosebumps, but I did enjoy watching the older short movies I'm not sure if they considered them show episodes or short movies, but they were made back in the day for the books.

Exactly, it was just too..mediocre, not even based on the books tbh.

I agree I know the older shows/movies back in the day were not the scariest, but they went with the books that's what I loved about them, but this new one was a fail to be honest I really liked Slappy as a character even in the older shows he was in like Night of the living dummy 1, 2, 3 etc, but he was bad in the new movie I can't believe R.L Stine said ok to it, but its nice seeing somebody else who loves Goosebumps. =)

Yeah, sadly Goosebumps is a bit of an underground book series these days..at least the good ones, I'm not a fan of the books for the 'older' audience..

There is so many Goosebumps books as well including sequels plus Goosebumps 2000 etc when kids today see Goosebumps their going to go off the movie since the books are not that big anymore and I don't think the movie helped the books at all.

No it didn't help at all, It was baiscally the monsters all come alive after the main boy (insert generic teenage boy here) crushes on R.L's daughter (insert generic teenage girl here) breaks into her house to find her, finds the books and drops one, opening it.. it's..very bad.

Some of the sequeals were okay, but once it gets into Fear Street...yeah no thanks

I agree fear street was not that good I do understand every writer eventually moves on, but Goosebumps was the best and the new movie was very predictable that the very first Goosebumps monster released was Slappy the dummy he is R.L Stines favorite Goosebumps character, but they were all portrayed poorly and of course they had to throw in some really annoying characters seeing the trailers I knew it was and did not bother to see it.

Yeah, I kind of knew it would be crap going in, but i still wanted to give it a chance. Oh, I also loved the Haunted Mask, ok sure it was kinda..bad and asort of rip on "the Mask" but it was still pretty fun and it did scare me as a kid.

That was a good book even the movie they had with it was good it was kind of strange, but it was still good the Mask was a good movie as well The Haunted Mask had a flare to it, it was not scary, but it was humerus and something that could be enjoyed the Goosebumps books are short which makes them a good read your not reading 40 or more chapters or 200 and more pages its short stories that can give you a chuckle and I apologize if I bore you at all or get on your nerves at all.

It's all good hun, I found a lot of the books, especially the choose your own adventures one had a lot of humor in them. What made it great was that the humor was well placed and quite funny. For example, the the clone learning how to throw up and pretends to be the original.

That is very true humor is what can save a book and that goes for any book choose your own adventure, Goosebumps, mysteries etc but R,L Stine had a good balance of that until he moved away from it and the god awful movie was made, but that actually is funny its the random things in books that you least expect that will crack you up and make the book worth while and there was so many Goosebumps books including different types to choose from so everybody had a choice and that's what I liked about the books and ya can't beat an evil sponge monster living under your very own kitchen sink have to check twice to make sure no eyes appear lol, but the choose your own adventures they were good books they had something for everybody to choose from and that's what makes a book worth reading.

While I haven't read every single book, but I do rather enjoy the franchise.

Reading one is all it takes even if you have not read them all that one Goosebumps book you choose to read is what makes it or breaks it due to it opens your mind to the world within the pages corny I know lol. :please:

I loved those books as a kid. In fact, I'm thinking about rereading the ones I still have. A couple of years ago I actually got a newer one as a joke gift which I've yet to read, so I'll probably start there.

i remember i had makrs in it for each book i have read, and each episode i saw.

i almost had the whole thing checked both ways...lol

my fav would have to be "piano lessons can be murder" for the episode.

book would have to be "welcom to camp nightmare" for the book

and finaly "the ghost dog" or is it just "ghost dog" as my fav short promo story....

The unasked questions are what bother me, not the answers. The answers give me clarity. Silence is in its self an answer, so ask! To not ask is to deny the existence of said question, and leaves you with just "what if".

Hey nothing wrong with that I've been doing that actually reading some of my collection recently brings back memories and hope you have a good read.

It was one of the first few books I've ever read

knight in screaming armor is my favourite ^ ^

The stories may have been short, but back in the day those were the books to read =) and I know that one it was pretty good.

I actually never read any Goosebumps book fully and I only seen two of the episodes, so I guess I cannot consider myself an actual fan at all. However, I have been listening to an awesome podcast, Goosebuds. It is 3 guys that go into immense detail and critique the Goosebumps books and it is really cool to listen to. :3 I get to learn about the books I never read and some of them are really cool.

While I was never a "hardcore" fan of the series back then, I always enjoyed going to my local library to check out Goosebumps books and TV episodes.

"The Werewolf of Fever Swamp" was my jam back in the day. Haha. I even bought the graphic novel.

I remember collecting every Goosebumps book that released. My favorite stories involved werewolves. I even played the old PC game Escape From Horrorland.

There are so many Goosebumps books including re releases and I liked Werewolf of Fever Swamp, but my favorite is Night of the Living Dummy and I know that game it was pretty good.

That's ok you don't have to collect and read everything to be a fan.
