Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Battlefield....... I can't wait to crush entire teams into dust. I've driven BF4 into the ground and i'm not even a max rank, I think i'm a 133 on there and I have well over 1000 hours played. This game certainly looks like it's going to be fun, I enjoyed the rather glitchy, but still fun beta.

I got ridiculously good with the rifleman variant of the Russian 1895 in the BF1 beta, you know, the lever action rifle without a scope? Can't wait to use it again, beautiful weapon.

That's the dream, hopefully the launch will be much better than BF4. Luckily the servers are also going to be running at 60 ticks rather than the 30 that BF4 does. The beta was a little buggy but nothing game breaking.

That is true. Didn't the beta have over 10 million players? That was probably a very good test run for the servers. I have a feeling Dice has learned from BF4.

It was around 13 million if I remember, which is outstanding. Hopefully the launch will be smooth but even if it isn't, the single player will be enough to hold us down till the servers aren't being destroyed.

Edit:Good lord I've done it, I bought Origin Access so I can play the 10 hour trial on the 13th. I've become one of THOSE people.

It is officially out! Battlefield 1 is out now and I am downloading it on Xbox One as I am typing this. So this thread will be for the general discussion of the game. Have you played it? Thoughts? Also this thread can be used for finding other players of course. ^-^

I am obviously excited for the multiplayer as I loved BF4, but for the first time in a long while, I am excited to play a campaign for a shooter, that being this one, mainly because of the setting. :)

WW1 is way too underused as a setting. I'm probably not going to be able to play but I'm glad it's finally getting some recognition. Looked like a fun game, and not just about peeking over trenches.

Heyo @@Kyoshi, just a heads up I merged your topic with an already existing discussion on BF1.

On topic though, I've been playing the game for like 3-4 days now and Im loving it. Such an intense experience :D

From what I've played so far, over the past few days, the game plays very well. The only problems I've been experiencing are slow pause menus and melee combat being very unpredictable. Other then that, the gamplay is solid. You really have to play in an objective focused squad to get the ture Battlefield experience.

Also something to note: the sound design is just incredible!

Wow. Not only did I somehow forget about this already existing topic that I already posted in but the search results didn't show this specific topic either. The cosmos are against me! D:

Speaking of this game though, played it last night. While the multiplayer was installing I started the campaign. The start to the campaign is actually pretty friggin cool. It does a perfect job laying down the atmosphere of the war itself, which was just horrid and bleak. The graphics are once again eye-popping. It absolutely crushes its competition once again on every technical level.

Then the multiplayer. The gameplay is also once again entirely top notch. I love how the medic class is separate again. Conquest is still incredibly fun and the sound design once again just immerses me into it. Was using stereo headphones and it was brutal. So far I am really enjoying the multiplayer, although I do have a few issues. 1. Rush kinda sucks. For some reason only Bad Company 1 did this mode right, to me at least. 2. Where is my Battlelog stuff? My emblem and stats? 3. Battlepacks, these things seem inconsistent as all hell. And lastly, the game did crash on me once, but I suppose that should be a bit expected with a game of this magnitude.

So far though, the game is really impressing me.

The graphics are amazing! Wasn't hyped for it, but ended up getting it after I watched someone play it on YouTube, and now I think this might be my new favorite game!

I caved and bought the game on Sunday. I haven't tried MP yet, but from what I've played, it's looking like my favorite Battlefield game since Bad Company, and it's been scratching that WWII itch I've been having(despite it being a WWI game)

  • I don't think I'll buy it, but I'm a little torn on, since it's a lot of money. I don't have any consoles and play only on my PC. From what I have seen, it's $80 Canadian on origin, which is $5 a month, correct me if I'm wrong. I have always been a big fan of WWII and WWII shooters such as Cod 2 and WAW, because I like the balance of those weapons, as opposed to modern weapons. From what I've seen though, the game plays a lot like a WWII shooter in terms of small arms combat, since there are lots of full auto and semi auto guns. This isn't very accurate for the First World War, since bolt action was most popular, but for a shooter it works better than going historically accurate with mostly bolt action. This is one that I am more interested in then many other FPS's today, since I am a history buff on both world wars.I haven't really played any shooter that is post 2009, so I think it would be interesting to play a more modern shooter.

More or less all I expected it to be. Seems as chaotic, brutal and senseless as the real thing was supposed to be. Probably the best single player campaign of any first person shooter I have played, knocking CoD 5 off the top spot, and I don't say that lightly. Just wish it was longer. Best FPS to emerge in years, by my reckoning.

And the scout class can get a Martini-Henry. That is my sh*t  Soon I will listen to the theme of Zulu while getting my face blasted off by a b*stard with a Lewis Gun safe in the knowledge I've got an awesome gun. Shame the bloody krauts aren't armed with spears, might make it a bit easier.

Too bad I have to get to rank 10 with the scout to unlock it  ah well, back to the trenches  :please:
