Equestria needs the death penalty. The Season 6 finale is proof.

Actually, why are we considering them to have the exact same emotion? Why are we considering the whole, instead of them as individuals with their own thoughts? I'm sure Shining Armor isn't as keen on forgiving Chrysalis as Twilight the princess of friendship would be. Not to mention the changelings would have a different opinion on Chrysalis than the ponies would.

The other Changelings may have some sympathy towards Chrysalis since she was their queen and who nurtured them when they hatched from their eggs. The ponies' feelings will vary depending on their personal experiences.

And your point is..? I do believe those all count as death due to repercussions of their own actions. Scar would count as murder, but so what? Simba didn't do it and in this case I believe it counts as "law of the jungle" considering the whole "circle of life" thing they preached through the whole damn movie, Ursula and Maleficent are no where close to murder... did you actually watch these films or just youtube the death scenes and fill in the blanks yourself? No one cares about safety measures or lines of defense of all that pointless talk in this type of show. Don't start moving the goalpost on your own thread, if she wants to start some grief, and go down fighting until the gruesome end that is one thing.... but no one will or should execute her in the context of the show. That is a controversial topic in the real world all by itself that is becoming  more and more frowned upon as the years go by. No one is going to or should add it to family friendly show such as this.

Everything I said stands.

Don't use double standards to defend your position then. How anybody can pretend that executing Chrysalis and outright killing her in a fight under ANY circumstance are mutually exclusive, in a show about friendship, is beyond me.

The finale where the reformed villains saved the day is pretty much the opposite of a good argument for death penalty...

It is until you remember they chose reformation when Chrysalis didn't.

While I don't necessarily want the show to go full Earth Queen on one of their villains, if one of them is to be really evil like Chrysalis, than instead of pulling another FIM quality villain reformation, I would rather see either her or any new villain to go the way of King Sombra by killing them off in a manner that doesn't leave a body, and not using the word death in order for Hasbro to keep the TV Y rating and not scar any of the target audience members.

They should probably say no longer among us, instead.

To be fair though, we haven't yet seen how the whole thing with Chrysalis will end. She could end up saving Equestria herself, for all we know.

To me, life is about making mistakes, learning from them and move on. Chrysalis can still choose to be reformed. Forgiveness is not a one-time only offer. Chrysalis has to sort out her emotions first too, if her reformation is to be genuine. Then she'd atone for her mistakes. For instance, by helping settle issues within the changelings (who may enter in a kind of civil conflict, if not war). Or by helping defeat a common threat.

Oh also, I think Discord did not choose to be reformed. He was more or less forced into it by Twilight and her friends (mostly Fluttershy though), at Celestia's request if memory serves right. Had several relapses too, one particularly having to do with some Tirek.

Yeah, and that goes double for the Royal Family and Elements of Harmony because of what they've been through with Chrysalis.

To ponies who either don't know about Changelings or do but never were impacted by their presence, they probably would have a neutral stance towards them.

I guess that's true. Does that mean the Wonderbolts aren't as famous as they claim to be?

Yeah, I'm certain many of them, such as Ponyville, will have a neutral stance towards them since they were never affected by them like with Canterlot and the Crystal Empire with the Royal Wedding and Thorax.

Ponyville did have Kevin who attended Cranky and Matilda's wedding.

Yeah, but no one seemed that all concerned about him except for those fillies. Then there's Commander Firebrand with his review of the 100th episode...

Considering he was sitting in the back and doing nothing out of the ordinary compared to other Changelings, anyone sitting near the front probably didn't even notice him. Strange though that Kevin was there in a place where love was plentiful, yet he didn't do anything to absorb any as is their mantra. Could he have been a precursor to Thorax?

Possibly. He could have been foreshadowing to Season 6 with Thorax and Chrysalis' return, and the alternate future in the Season 5 finale as well. That's a good theory.

I didn't take the season five finale into account either.

I mean yeah, the show is about friendship and love and stuff. But kids need to know that the world isn't farting rainbows of joy.

Although, there are fates worser than death.

Atleast according to Percy Jackson logic, people on the Tartarus are constantly being tortured and sliced in pieces.

Many kids don't fell like going on the Internet to search up for the meaning of "Tartarus" on the greek mythology, so the Tartarus kind of works as a...

...hidden death?

Here is the thing though. Why is it not? Is it beause "that's the way it is", or is it because "that's the way we consider it to be"? I think it's the latter. There are few truly deranged individuals that really need to get put down, like the Joker in Batman. There's just no way the Joker will be anything other than the Joker, he's killed before and will kill again until he himself is killed. And imo, Chrysalis is no Joker. She can change.

Besides, for most, it's just the easy way out. Not the best, far from it. If someone commits a crime because they need the money, putting them in jail will just make matters worse because they'll lose many of their friends and perhaps support from their family, they'll have even more trouble getting money when they get out of prison...in short, it's almost like condemning them to do it again.

So, death? Well, I say ever heard "an eye for an eye", or about the vendettas? Things like that never go well. Who cares if it's "justice" when your loved one was killed? And even if they haven't been, why would the criminals show any kind of restraint when clearly even the state doesn't? I wouldn't think twice if I faced the risk of being outright killed if I were in their shoes. But if I weren't? I'd still have hope to make it out of prison in a few years or more, especially if I show good conduct. And that's assuming a prison system, which I find way too obsolete as well in most cases.

... Wow, sorry. I'd better hold myself back and not type another wall of text :D

Flinp felt like editing this part of the post so no wall of text would happen.

Well...Chrysalis has done all of this because her Changelings and herself are hungry or love.

Unless there are still a good bunch of Changelings that aren't ChangeDlings and are still loyal to her, then she won't change.

However, if there's only her, then she will change or she will have a burden forever, or will be put into the Tartarus.

Flinp was right to do so, Ninjaed felt like saying.

Hmm I don't quite get the "unless she still has changelings with her" part. You mean that if she has some still loyal to her, she will change but if she's alone, she will not? I'm a tad confused here, shouldn't it be the other way around?

Pretty sure you meant the latter and just failed at understanding you at first, your last line confirming that. I think I agree with you there. If she feels that she has to keep the ones still loyal to her fed, she will continue. If she's alone or finally starts considering that the changed-ling way might be the better way, she can change yes. Or she can fail at "letting it go" and...

Won't think about it. I sure hope she does change, because as I see it, she's pretty much all alone, homeless, betrayed, scorned and heartbroken, among others... :(
