Holy Sword Excalibur 87 October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 Let's say that Tirek was able to somehow return and regain his power to the point he was at at the climax of "Twlight's Kingdom" and suddenly met Sombra. Which one of the two would win in a fight? While I do believe that Sombra would put up a strong fight, I believe that Tirek would win due to having the ability to drain magic and has more brute force. Castle Bleck 19,334 October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 (edited) I believe that Tirek would win due to having the ability to drain magic and has more brute force. Likewise, Sombra can spawn magic-nullifying crystals and become intangible. IMO, the fight = Edited October 13, 2016 by A.V. 2 By Emerald.↑
BastementSparkle 20,326 October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 Eh, this is a tough one. If Tirek can manage to get a good grip on him like he did with Discord, he could probably suck him dry. But Sombra can kinda turn into smoke, summon up huge crystals, nullify magic as A.V. said, stuff like that. Both characters have only been in a few episodes of the show, and a few issues of some comics, so it's not like we have a great grasp on exactly what either of them are capable of. So, it could go either way? I'd probably say Tirek would be more likely to win, since he sure does seem like a bigger threat, but there's no guarantee. Twilight is best pony. Why hello MLPForums! SunsetBaconDrive 169 October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 Tirek with his full capacity... Sombra is simply food. Chrysalis, Sombra, Adagio are nowhere near the level of Tirek and what he can do. Only two that have the potential to are Chrysalis and Adagio since their strength is based on how strong their energy nourishment is. Sombra has to rely on the power he already has.
heavens-champion 1,905 October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 (edited) Personally, I think, if Tirek's fast enough, he'd drain Sombra of his magic, forcing Sombra to team up with Twilight and friends. I can imagine that they wouldn't enjoy it, much. Rainbow Dash: (sarcastically) Oh great. Chillin' with the villain. Rarity: If we have to protect King Sombra, You'll have to protect him from me. Sombra: (in response to whatever Spike does) Ugh. How did you ponies ever defeat me? Edited October 13, 2016 by heavens-champion
Ganondorf8 11,288 October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 I can definitely see Tirek prevailing and not just because he can absorb magic. He relies on brute force to overcome those who oppose him, and don't forget the massive laser beam from his horns.

In the comics, Sombra reveals that his power can increase, too. P.S.: Making an entire city-kingdom vanish through space and time = "nowhere near the level of Tirek"? cider float 2,537 October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 (edited) Good question. Hmmm I would think Sombra would be able to shut down Tirek's magic with his black crystals making him unable to use magic at all. But not sure if Sombra can kill off Tirek. Not sure if Sombra can even be hurt, he seems to be a ghost or some sort of undead being but neither does it seem like Tirek can be killed through brute force alone. On another hand can Tirek absorb Sombra's magic when it doesn't seem like Sombra isn't even alive to begin with? Sombra was defeated by the Crystal Heart + Cadance and Tirek was defeated by the second wind EoH. Edited October 13, 2016 by cider float

cmarston1 5,959 October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 (edited) This actually an interesting proposal. Seeing how sheer magical ability would lead to a stalemate, it would have to go down to either luck, or the more resourceful and intelligent of the two. But even that would be hard to tell. So it really could go either way. Edited October 13, 2016 by cmarston1
Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,366 October 13, 2016 Share October 13, 2016 It all depends on what level of Tirek we are talking about. If he was fully powered up into magical godmode, then he basically has no competition. however, anytime before that, Sombra could definitely put up a fight. AS others have said, magic canceling crystals and being able to go into a shadow form actually makes Sombra a decently powerful force and we never saw what else he could do if he was directly confronted in a battle. He may have other powerful abilities up his sleeves. All of this really makes me want Sombra to have another shot and for him to be soooooooooooooooooo much better! Leave a Whisper 703 October 14, 2016 Share October 14, 2016 (edited) I hafta go with Sombra on this one. As a villain he was far more successful. He subjugated and held a kingdom, then sank it into an in-between realm. Plus he's got more tricks up his sleeve. Tirek steamrolled one kingdom successfully, tried to take over Dream Valley, was killed, made a bid for Equestria and got his butt handed to him again. cider float 2,537 October 14, 2016 Share October 14, 2016 (edited) First don't know if Tirek could absorb Sombra's magic as he doesn't seem to be amongst the living, second Tirek can't just absorb anyone's magic he didn't do it right away on Discord or Twilight probably because they were too focused and on the defense or he probably couldn't absorb magic off of any pony that didn't yield to him or had fear of him. Discord's magic was only absorbed when he was in a very emotionally vulnerable state. I would say among villains, Sombra is quite focused, determined and cunning probably more so than Discord so don't think Tirek would be able to fool him into giving up his power even as a physical being. I mean Sombra has been doing all that to Crystal Empire for at least 1000 years, that's some determination and planning. Spider 1 October 16, 2016 Share October 16, 2016 Depends. Sombra seems like he would favor armies instead of a one on one face smashing match, but I don't know if that'd be an advantage or not.
Concerned Bystander 2,902 October 16, 2016 Share October 16, 2016 Lord Tirek hands down. At the same level of power he had in Twilight's Kingdom he'd go through Sombra like a dose of salts without even breaking a sweat. Sombra is fairly formidable on his own way, but his power seems to stem more from fear and tyranny which just wouldn't work on Tirek. Sombra's only chance would be in getting to Tirek before he achieved that level of power.
