Could our world manage pegasi and unicorns?

Let's say that horses begin an evolutionary process where some develop wings, and others gain horns with magic. They don't appear to be more intelligent than the horses we have now, so their only priorities in life are to eat, sleep and shit. And possibly find a mate.

The unicorns only have a basic understanding of how telekinesis works, and the pegasi are not particularly skilled at flying. But these abilities could raise concerns, as a hungry unicorn might destroy property or break into establishments for food, and a pegasus with enough curiosity could attempt to fly and land absolutely anywhere without supervision.

Could we keep these horses under control, or would they be considered too wild to keep in human civilization?

So unicorns with no proper control of their own abilities? That would be a disaster and a half, possibly more. Pegasi would also be an issue for many reasons, but uncontrollable magic would be a massive problem. Knowing the odds humanity would search on how to harness it regardless. Humanity has evil within itself.

So nothing short of killing them would work then?

With or without the wings and horns, they'd still think the same way as other horses. I'm thinking they'd need a damned good trainer to discipline them. Though whether that's enough for the growing unicorn/pegasi population is a different story.

Well if describe it that way it seems like it would be to much of a hassle for many ranchers and farmers to handle. They would have to discipline a horse on how to control magic and how to train a pegasus not to fly. All the while, they still have other responsibilities that a rancher would have to tend to. To be honest, it sounds like most of them wouldn't really survive long as they would, you know, be put down.

I imagine they would be mostly tamed like modern day horses are for the most part. And then bred and utilized much like most horses are today.

In other words they would be extra ordinary horses that mankind would conquer and utilize in extra ordinary ways.

And that makes me sad.
