Why are they so bad?

The only DC Comics movie that was worth watching was Watchmen. I was skeptical about watching it because of how corny it looked but it had a really good story in the end.

Every other DC Comics movie is just so cringeworthy and bad what happened? The Dark Knight series, Man of Steel, Superman v Batman (WTF is this *beep*), Suicide Squad (terrible)

Sure Marvel movies seem to run generic plots but they're a lot more interesting and bearable.

The biggest problem I have with these movies is that they're trying to turn everything into the Dark Knight and trying to shove Batman into everything, and doing a terrible job at it. Man Of Steel's sequel should've been a Solo Superman movie, not another freaking Batman movie

I'd have to disagree with your assessment on the dark knight trilogy.  They seem to be the exception, as DC films haven't really been all that great since Burton & Keaton left the Batman franchise. Trying to repeat the succsess of the Dark Knight trilogy, as well as cashing on the succsess/ catch up with Marvel Studios, heck Marvel in general w/ the payoffs for the early Spider-man/X-men films, has lead them to becoming both a former shadow of themselves, as well as Marvel lite.

Im not sure where all the hate comes from.

I watched a lot of the Hated Movies, like Green Lantern for example. I thought it was a great Movie.

I also like Man of Steel, i thought the Fight Scenes were Epic and the Movie was emotional.

I dont think DC Comics Movies are getting bad. Or maybe i just dont realize how bad they are, since i dont read the source material, that could be.  :twi:

Also im not a Movie Critic, im just a regular Watcher who just wants some Entertainment.

I could go on for quite some time about the issues that some of the more recent DC films have. Though at it's core, I believe that the lack in quality is due to marketing. Batman V Superman attempted to establish too much for future films in a short amount of time. Suicide Squad was tone deaf and had forced jokes, as they went out of their way to compete with the success of Deadpool. For their television shows, though marketing is still an issue as always, it less apparent for the most part, since DC has had a good standing in the realm of television for a little while now. Their recent television universe has been established and expanded upon before Marvel's has.

Their DCEU films have yet to impress me. I didn't like Man Of Steel, I hated Batman V Superman, and was mildly entertained, but still let down by Suicide Squad.  I'm hoping that next year's Wonder Woman and Justice League can win me over, but I'm not holding my breath.

The DC movies are pretty much based on the comic books of the 90's. Which is unfortunately the time period the current DC honchos and movie-makers fondly remember. It's what they grew up with. So every character being a dark, 'gritty', vengeance driven murder machine? That would be Rob Liefield and Frank Miller nonsenses, just with different gimmicky power sets.

If however, you actually like the DC characters outside of that period, you're going to have problems with the current DC movies. Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are considered DC's triumvirate for a reason. They are all opposites of each other. The second you make them the same in behavior or attitude, you've lost the thread. A dark, brooding loner who agonizes about the deaths of his parents? We talking Batman... or Superman from the Man of Steel? A rich CEO of a company who at night runs around fighting crime via fear? We talking Batman... or Wonder Woman from the failed 2011 pilot of the same name? A character that nonchalantly murders anyone who *might* be connected to a crime, or just happens to be somewhere near a crime scene? Despite what the DC brass seem to think, that's not Batman, or Superman, or Wonder Woman, that's the Punisher.
