Why Hasn't Any Information About Season 7 Been Released?

While nothing specific has been revealed yet, a 3 issue story arc in the Friendship is Magic comics that starts in February will have some sort of tie-in with season 7.

 

And because I'm sure there's going to be people thinking these things, the comics will probably not be necessary reading they'll just be supplementary (like all tie-in comics usually are), and you don't have to accept them as canon if you don't want to.

My Little Pony Friendship is Magic is far past it's prime now. The fandom is also past it's prime so don't expect there to be an explosion of hype anymore.

 

I very much dislike this comment. I think saying something like this just brings ponies down.

 

I am still very hyped for season 7, and a lot of other people/ponies are too!

Look, you basically say are saying the fandom is dying and nobody much cares, of course I don't like that, I don't agree with that. This fandom still has plenty of steam, if you are disillusioned with it then OK, but going around the forums saying season 6 is awful, fandom is dying; that's just not cool in my book. I know it makes the place feel less hospitable to fans that want to come and talk about ponies and then they see comments like that.

 

And the thing is, it looks like the intent behind that comment was to be as a downer to the average fan that comes in to the thread.

You're aiming that at me. My comment wasn't targeted at you, you just took it personally like as if I was aiming at you which I wasn't. The intent is pretty important. This thread DOES represent me, the fandom doesn't represent you because it's made up of different people.

No I'm not attacking you, I am responding negatively to the idea in that comment, there is a difference there. the thread represents both of us, doesn't it?

 

I can see why you take offence, and so I slightly edited my original response, but do you see where I am coming from? maybe I reacted strongly, but I just... don't like that comment. This is my last post on it, don't want to derail the thread

Well, look at it this way.

 

Last year, we didn't have much information on Season 6, as the first teaser image didn't go online until January 2016. So if I were you, I wouldn't worry about anything until next month, at least.

Then again, you attacked the whole fandom with your comment.  So I'm not really sure what you were expecting there...

 

That said, I will say that I don't think there should be a voting system for posts.  The 'brohoof' system is enough.  I've been on forums that have used a voting/reputation system for posts in the past, and it never goes well.

 

 

As for Season 7, we'll just have to see.  As I said, if it ties into the movie and there is a status quo shift coming in the movie (again highly likely, given Hasbro's reputation for doing things like that), they'll likely keep it completely under wraps until they're ready to start advertising things for it in commercials.

Well here's what is revealed: 26 episodes confirmed, and there's an MLP comic arc that's going to tie into season 7 that has something to do with history books, so it looks like next season might have Equestria's history as the theme, much like Exploring Equestria was the theme for season 6!

It should be. That was kept unexplored for far too long. Hell, imagine that Starswirl appears with one of his time trips (The Journal of the Two Sisters implies that he's still alive, and he KNOWS about Twilight Sparkle). I guess it's time he shows himself

Either him or Scorpan! Scorpan would make sense too! I think the best idea would be for Scorpan to appear first, and then Star Swirl later, that way the crew will have two interesting seasons coming up, or at least two great potential of seasons, depending if they write them properly.
