movies/tv Non-Christmas Movies That Get You Into The Holiday Spirit?

Any films that make you think of Christmas but aren't Christmas films themselves?

Films about families tend to do that for me. Cheaper By The Dozen. Yours, Mine & Ours (The Original), Father Of The Bride & I Do, They Don't, do get me thinking about what the season is about.

Also films that take place during winter get me to thinking about Christmas. The Balto trilogy comes to mind, as do Frozen & Anastasia.

How about you?

I haven't seen Die Hard, so I can't go with that as my answer.

But seeing how I actually have seen and still really enjoy Frozen, I will go with that.

With how much snow and ice is in it, it does give off a very wintery vibe.

It's actually a family tradition to watch The Wizard of Oz during Christmas season, so I automatically think of Christmas each time I see it. :)

Traditionally, this encompasses films like The Wizard of OzWilly Wonka (or Charlieand the Chocolate Factory, and pretty much anything from Disney or any mainstream animated film. Most of these are films I'd watch at other times of the year anyway but I usually make more of an effort to break them out in November and December.

Around the start of November I break out my 'winter' movies to get in that snowy holiday mood. Some of them are decidedly un-holiday-ish, and include Where Eagles Dare, Ice Station Zebra, and Seven Years in Tibet, as well as The Cutting Edge, Balto, Frozen, The Sound of Music, the Narnia movies, Harry Potter, and the previously mentioned Empire Strikes Back.
