So, recently, my love for robot wars was rebooted along with the show and, since then, it's only escalated. I especially love the older episodes, like with roadblock, mortis, Cassius and panic attack. Does anybody else share this love? I also recently watched all the rebooted battlebots episodes. I wasn't that much of a fan; without the pit or the possibility of out of arena flips, there are only really spinners and the odd axe, making battles drawn out, repetitive and overall less enjoyable. Sorry. I just love that beat in the background of every battle, the enthusiasm of Jonathan Pearce, the songs from team plunderbird (intentional deck crew, to be specific) and pieces of art like razer or hypnodisc.

I used to watch it before it vanished from the networks I saw it on. It was pretty fun for awhile... although I never liked calling them robots since they are anything but. Awesome remote control machines yes.. not robots.

Rex garrod, father of the self righting mechanism​, once described robots like pieces of art and respected them, so he never used a weapon that could cause damage. That's why he only did flippers. I remember the earlier series when nearly every "robot" had a face, character and personality. Nowadays, that has kinda gone away, they resemble lifeless slabs of metal.

I was a big fan of BattleBots. The reboot has been... okay. It's been fun but never spectacular like the old one was. There's a little too much talking, not enough fighting.

I used to watch it in the early 2000's back in 2002/03 when they were showed older seasons at 6am, I used to remember the one with the spinning wheel, although it looked appealing, it was useless against some robots and they were screwed when it got destroyed.

For awhile, they showed the british version here in germany every sunday afternoon and i was totally hooked to it.

 

I remember robots like Firestorm, Behemoth, Chaos 2, Hypnodisc and Razer. I really miss that show.

I grew up with the extreme series always being on, so those are the ones I most remembered. Well, those and wheely big cheese

I will occasionally watch some Robot Wars episodes, but I'm more of a BattleBots fan. Both reboots are alright, but some of the original fights can't be topped.

 

I find it kinda funny that Ian Lewis and Simon Scott have a less-than-impressive record in BattleBots after dominating the competition in Robot Wars.

Well, they've decided to focus on battlebots fully now for the time being. They didn't enter the latest series of robot wars because of warhead

I am a huge Robot Wars fan from classic to modern. Old legends like Hypno Disc and Chaos 2 are still fresh in my mind while new greats like Carbide and Apollo already have a place in my heart. I am the type of guy who could talk Robot Wars for hours and I am hyped for Series 9.

I remember watching it when I was younger, I still watch some youtube vids of it every now and then. Razer was my favorite but Dantomkia was pretty cool too. ....They removed the show from Swedish tv years and years ago, sadly.
