So, according to the movie info, all the lands south of equestria are under a dictatorship; What's everyone's thoughts for How this reflects on celestia's rule in that she doesn't seem to have been bothered by it (or at least enough to have plans to fix things) until it actually results in her own lands being invaded?

>Storm king is the iron fisted ruler of all lands south of equestria http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/HAS/3923424451x0x928756/E13DCEAB-D79F-487D-A2CE-DB2415642C52/My_Little_Pony_Guardians_of_Harmony_2017_Product_Descriptions.pdf

Good for her to just mind her own business, or bad for her to ignore the plights of other lands around her?

Hm...that is interesting. I'm actually more interested in how Hippogriffs are employed by Novo. Do they have air tanks or something?

might live on an island near seaquestria and guard the area above it, like attacking hostile ships and stuff so they stay away.

Its not really the bussiness of foreing countries to interviene with other nations. There needs to be something EM-regatassa bad going on like genoside (unlikely for MLP) and people from those countries should ask for assistance at the very least. And you know its not like Equestria or any other place we have seen is a democracy (but Equestria seems to have a system where the cities and regions have some level of autonomy with their own elected leaders but its a bit unclear).

But I assume this is a recent development considering that I would think it would have been mentioned otherwise (well there are story reasons not to but if thinking just from the in universe angle).

Well, Equestria doesn't have a democracy either, and we all know what happens when you start taking out dictatorships left and left.

Besides, I'm confident that our glorious writers can provide at least 5 additional evil kingdoms in Equestria's immediate vicinity that undoubtedly represent unparallel danger to our beloved pony princessdom.

Sounds like a 'minding our own business' sorta deal. Now, it would be cool if in season 7 they reference him and those lands to the south at least once. That way it won't feel like 'Oh, yeah, there's a big dictatorship south of Equestria. Forgot to mention that.' in the movie. Unless the movie has a time-jump of some kind.

Should probably add proper spoiler tags to your thread so that people won't see it who don't want to get spoiled. Or at least I think that's what those tags do.

Anyways, huh. Well, I'm kind of a bit surprised at myself, in the sense that past seasons ago I actually would've probably enjoyed a more "invading" kingdoms type of thing, but not so much now. Is that what's going to happen in the upcoming movie? An invasion?

I'm at the point where I'm okay with clunky flank-pulls of lore being written up for mlp:fim. Heck, we didn't even know there was an evil dictatorship going down south of the Equestrian border. No one tells us anything around here (that's the excuse I'd come up with for Equestrian officials). That's the excuse Celestia can rely on (I'm almost half-jokingly expecting that to be the reason.)

Wait, wait, wait! So, the Storm King rules over ALL the lands south of Equestria? Cool! And, as to your question... hmm... well maybe she wasn't powerful enough to stop him after Luna was banished, so she waited for the mane six, but they still didn't do anything so... I got nothing. Celestia's just a terrible ruler!  :diamondtiara:
