MLP or Equastria Girls?

I think to be honest i like humans MLP better. Because i am not that huge fan of most of the songs in MLP. Unless they have deep connections or that, in Equastria Girls all songs are good i feel. Like "Let's come Together" or "Welcome to the Show" or "Embrace the Magic"

Also. I like Fluttershy more in that world too. What about you?

I generally enjoy both. But sometimes when my interest in FIM isn't that strong, I am more looking forward to EQG material. Such as how I was more looking forward for Legend of Everfree over season 6. But for the most part I enjoy them equally.

I prefer Equestria Girls as that was how I joined the fandom back in 2013 by seeing it on television by turning it on when I woke up one Sunday morning. Essentially, my exposure to EQG and MLP in general was by complete accident.

FIM all the way. Aside from the three post-RR shorts, Equestria Girls is soulless, stereotypical, sterile crap.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I feel like maybe you could say that about the first one, seemed loose ended, no good reason that the elements wouldnt go with her initially. but Rainbow Rocks has a lot of personality, the music is very soulful, they give Sunset an incredible identity and she is the greatest franchise reform character in my opinion... I love Sunset... many do... yes there are loose plot devices like Sunsets book to Celestia that Twilight happens to stumble upon, and then quickly engineers an alternative passage... honestly with that being, she could cross whenever she felt like, but that is why they brought in human crystal prep twilight, to get rid of the connection and continuity complications etc.

@@Rose Coil, EQG1 is irredeemable, but it isn't the only movie from the spinoff that's soulless and stereotypical. Friendship Games, while marginally better, still falls for that same lame high-school-drama shtick by painting Crystal Prep as a school that's purely antagonistic while CHS is purely protagonist (when high schools have way more personality than that; no school or school body is purely good or evil). On top of that, there were a lot of really terrible flaws with the film: the abundance of exposition killing the flow, how everyone from Crystal Prep besides Dean Cadance hated Twilight and couldn't give a damn when she beat Sunset, both the Wondercolts and Shadowbolts had to participate in motocross (a very dangerous sport that requires a license and a boatload of training) blindly, how both sides ignored the crazy tentacle monster that put everyone on the pitch in danger and only evacuated when they finished the race, etc. I hate Friendship Games.

Rainbow Rocks isn't good, either. Each of the villains are cookie cutter. Each of the ReMane Five's characterization degraded (especially Dash and AJ). The "humor" surrounding Sunset's past deeds was abusive. And Sunset's redemption was marred by how the EoH reset her. That said, it's much better than EQG1 or FG and does a few things right, namely the story (it's way tighter than the others), kitchen scene, and climax.

(That said, nothing from EQG's worse than the Holiday Special, but that's another topic.)

And honestly, I think Sunset is one of the worst EQG characters as is, but for a completely different reason. In EQG1, Sunset's whole personality was completely altered when the Elements of Harmony (in the form of a DEM) zapped her, ala Nightmare Moon. But unlike Sunset, Luna was confined in a world of anger and turmoil; NMM was jealousy personified, and the EoH returned her to normal. Sunset's old character was reset in favor of the Elements' fetishistic vision of her with only her memories of her past evil. The Sunset in the films is Sunset-in-name-only. This decision has affected not just every film for the worse, but the entire world of EQG, too. If I want to see the character redeemed, I want to see the character redeemed, not a brainwashed version of her. On my list of best to worst reformations, she's at the very bottom (outside of Radiant Hope from the comic). Starlight's reformation and (despite the problems) redemption are much better than Sunset's, because she chose to change her ways herself.

I GREATLY disagree, the motocross thing, I will admit is utterly ridiculous, let alone a dean encouraging one of their students to use magic to compete in a collection of highschool challenges... especially after seeing the danger at the motocross competition... HOWEVER, the reform of Sunset is still voluntary and developmental, you can tell how much she cares about her friends alternatively when she sees the danger they are in. She just has a temper and gets anxious and her emotions erupt before she can come up with a definitive resolution... LOE spiced up a little bit of ridiculousness but I love the antagonist. Yes they needed an excuse to bring Caedence and Shining Armor from Equestria, and in doing so they did it in a very sloppy manner, that didnt make a lot of sense... people compare EG to Monster high and what not, but I feel like it still really keeps the identity of the characters intact, so I guess that is where I disagree. I think Rainbow Rocks was a good movie... genuinely... They emphasize the fact that she wasnt a friendship professional in one movie... she kept quiet and stayed in the background even though she knew there was disharmony among the mane six... because she knew it wasnt her place yet... the Dazzlings are cool, and their music is awesome... I think being over critical over the Equestria Girls movies is kind of a bit much, especially because its intended targets are much clearer.. than FIM which is a little more open ended to all audiences... chances are if you arent a brony, or if you arent a young girl you wont like it... but bronies being over critical also is something many of us are no stranger to at this point of my being in the fandom for 3 years... yes there is a lot of things wrong with the Equestria Girls movies, but imagine it less like our human world, and more like human world encompassed by equestrian magic and entities from equestria...

For the most part I like ponies a lot better...

Now that being said there are things I like in EQ better.

For instance....

I almost can't stand Pinkie pie in MLP... Shes just at that point that if she was any more annoying I would dislike her. but not quite.

I EQ She's much more standable. I almost like her.

Sci-Twi. I don't like her more then Twilight Pony.. But I like her a lot...

And...

Sunset.....

Oh.. How I wish we would get Sunset in Pony MLP. (I want human sunset as a pony)

She might actually be my favorite character across all Ponies.. But The over all setting?
Nope like ponies more.

I like both. All the Mane characters from the 2 universes are very likable.

I like both but if I have to choose one I would say MLP^^ However, I would just swap Glimmer with Sunset Shimmer. Sunset would be way better for the mane 8 (yes, Spike is part of the mane 7 and not a side character for me :-p )
