Wondering if Sea Ponies could be added to MLP FIM. I know they look/act terrible, but so did the old ponies. Of course, they were never mentioned o0r acknowledged yet, but that doesn't mean they couldn't be used. Would you like/expect To see them in FIM, Revamped accordingly?

 

If anyone has a picture of what a FIM version might look like, please put it up!

 

This was going to be mentioned eventually.

I imagine if they ever do make a return, it'd be in one of Pinkie's Dreams/Nightmares (cwutididthar?)

 

There hasn't been much talk of any large oceans or anything near ponyville... So if they weren't just a dream; they'd have to be somewhere so far away, they'd never appear in another episode again. (Apploosa? Buffalo? Brae-burn?)

But what do I know? I'm just a stupid kid.

Lauren Faust originally had an idea for a sea pony episode, not sure where that went though. I'm positive we would be able to trust this idea with the same superb team that keeps bringing us all these amazing episodes if it were to arise. Although, sea ponies would seem like a race divided from the mainland and confined to the sea, unable to commonly interact with those from the mainland. I don't think Lauren would have wanted that, but who knows.

Yes.

As long as they don't sing all the time and act (and look) like the G1 sea-ponies.

I think that it would be nice to see a new race of ponies in the show and it could be pretty interesting to see how they will interact with the other species of ponies.

 

I'm pretty sure that there'll be a beach episode or something eventually in which they will appear.

Hmm sea ponies you say? Well the only sea pony horse I'd want to have is SeaLyra.

For the most part, earth ponies, unicorns and pegasi are enough to amply satisfy me, but knowing Hasbro, they could probably throw a couple in and manage to make it work, we'll see.

I've sure there's some large source of water. (Where else would the water come from?)

But we've just never seen or heard of one; which means it can't be too close, or close enough for anypony to mention.

I live in the middle of the United States, and I hardly hear anypony talking about the Oceans... Not even in Geography class... :blink:

 

 

Maybe it's just the writers way of avoiding the subject.

 

No oceans...No sea-ponies...

Right? :unsure:

I'm not sure. I'm sure that this team that made Friendship is Magic as wonderful as it is could make even sea ponies cool. However, I am still a little weary about it.

I would think they would look different than the originals, maybe more like a sea horse, not a mermaid.

Like a hippocampus? :blink:

I'd imagine they would have a tough time handling things without any hooves, the fins are pretty superfluous if they have tails to help them swim. That hippocampus picture I posted last page is probably more accurate in terms of what they would look like.

As far as fins/hooves go, yes, they should have hooves. they should also have a sub-species of sea unicorn. maybe sea pegasus, but I doubt it.
