Hey guys,

Sorry for asking this, but does anyone know of any clips or scenes from MLP that are great examples of Flash Animation? The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Twilight's fight with Tirek & when I try to find other examples on YouTube, I can only find fan animations (a lot of which are sub-par at best -_- ).

Depends on what you are looking for exactly. Different seasons usually had different approaches that the team tried and later scaled back (Season 4's emphasis on lighting is one good example).

That video does a good job breaking down an older episode that used some common yet effective blurs and tweens that you see in Flash.

For the aforementioned lighting effects check out Princess Twilight Sparkle. The Canterlot Throne room in part 1 and Nightmare Moon vs Celestia in part 2 are where you want to focus on. The battle actually utilizes an assortment of Flash specific animation tools.

Any scene with a Mane Six character also shows how they create separate symbols in manes and use tweens and stretching to make them move independently. Pinkie is a great example of this since she is very kinetic in general.

In the song "Hearts as Strong as Horses", there are some really great scenes of the lighting and shading.

Also in another song "The Spectacle" sung by Coloratura, uses some special effects and it's visually good.

Some parts of the episode "Rarity Investigates" has some mono-chromatic scenes reminiscent of the noir genre. It looks great, gritty and really sets a different tone from within the show's casual bright pastel color pallette.
