How Does Applejack's Day Off (S6:10) Make You Feel?

This episode is over a year old, but it still confuses me to this day. I need to get this off my chest. It's been bothering since last year. This episode is worst, far worst than "Princess Spike", "Putting your Hoof Down", and "Baby Cakes". Instead of a full on rant, I'll go with a list.

1. This is a ripoff of Apple Buck Season and possibly, Look Before You Sleep.

2. Rarity doesn't seem to understand that working on a farm is almost a 24 hour job. 

3. Where was Big Mac and Granny Smith? Why couldn't they fix the problem ahead of time? Surely they are not as stubborn as Applejack. 

4. Why didn't the spa ponies call a plumber or even bother to investigate the situation? Making ponies wait like that is bad for business. 

5. Twilight and Spike could be doing something else with their time.

6. Applejack is being rude towards Rarity. She keeps ditching the unicorn, to go work. 

7. What was the lesson of episode? What purpose does this episode have?

Honestly I only got through half of it. It seems kinda like Spike at Your Service, fundamentally misunderstanding a character and making them deeply incompetent at things we already know they're good at, all for the sake of a rather unfunny gag.

There's episodes I hate more than this one, but of all episodes I've seen this is the only one that actually feels like a waste of time. Lots of time spent on AJ going back and fourth seeing what's wrong with the steamer, and a pissed Rarity. Zero time is spent on Twilight's side of the story, despite the synopsis telling us what she was in for. Pacing is as slow as a snail, and the episode is falling asleep as it goes. Then we get to the end where something finally happens, and all it does is make AJ look like a moron. Seriously, the only good thing I can say about the episode are the RD scenes, and that's not my bias, those are the only thing that gave life to this dying episode, and probably the only thing most people actually remembered it for.

While I don't hate this episode like I do with Newbie Dash or 28 Pranks Later, I still think it's much worse than those two, easily the season's worst imo

This isn't an episode that elicits an emotion out of me like those two does. This is an episode that's up there with Princess Spike and What About Discord.

It's not an episode that is infuriating or offensive to watch. This episode is just plain bad

Almost nothing happens in this episode at all.

Whatever can even be called a conflict in the episode is so thin that it makes tissue paper look obese.

While Magical Mystery Cure is an episode that while I do love I have to agree that it is kinda rushed, I feel that Applejack's Day off suffers from the opposite problem.

MMC would have greatly benefited from being a 2 part episode, ADO doesn't even have enough of a plot to fill out a single episode.

When shows like Steven Universe and Adventure Time are able to convey significantly more in half the time, you know something is wrong.

I think the episode should have only been 11 or even 7 minutes long given how little of anything there were to it.

Applejack's Day Off rightly holds the crown for the most boring episode in the entire series, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

This is one of those episodes that is so dull and forgettable that I cannot even bothered to dislike it. It is just sort of there... being forgotten. I can understand why Applejack fans would loathe it, but I just find it an inoffensive snoozefest.

Rarity sees that Applejack never has time to relax at the Spa because Applejack was doing things around the farm that was taking her time to relax. I can see it as managing your time, work efficiently and correctly in a way where you can create time to enjoy other things.

Besides that, it was very simple and quick episode that doesn't excel or failed in any category.

This one bored me a lot. Seemed like the humour was solely reliant on us somehow finding Rarity objecting to Applejack funny, but her reactions weren't all that interesting. The one other joke, Rainbow hiding her spa dates, is what I consider the worst representation of her this season. I really don't think Rainbow would hide this from her friends at this point, and I don't really think her friends would make a joke about it. Whatever.

See, most of the MLP episodes I dislike are ones I just find boring or irritating, so there aren't many which actively baffle me. Still, "Princess Twilight Sparkle" and "Rainbow Falls" both fit the bill, and "Magical Mystery Cure" is full of just terrible creative decisions.

I'm just pointing out the intended lesson and nothing more as quoted from the 2nd volume of the Elements of Harmony reference book of the show:

"I guess I just got so used to doing everything a certain way, I didn't realize there were any problems" -Applejack 

The Spa Ponies had the same problem and needed A.J.'s outside perspective to see that! 

That's actually not a bad lesson: to take an outside perspective to see a problem you might be having. It's just put in a slow and forgettable episode.

Hmmmm...I don't know it just doesn't bother me. Is it stupid, yes, is it unnecessary, yes, is it funny, not so much yet I just can't feel anything but, "eh" and just keep watching.

Definitely "Amending Fences" I will never understand this "correct" characterization of Moondancer. I want to like her like almost (I didn't forget you Thrond) everyone else in the fandom does but I just can't. I really hope another appearance from her can help this like all of Starlight's subsequent one's helped her for me.

The Spa really has no excuse to not have maintenance on staff or to call to repair it. Basic 101: Someone had to install the entire setup for the spa.
