Where is Abyssinia Located

So I've got one question. Abyssinia, the kingdom that the Storm King invaded has a town called Klugetown, and the town in the desert that the Mane Six stop at is called Klugetown. Does that mean that Abyssinia is the mountain area South of the desert?

Hey, I had this same question! I am making a fanfiction story. And I want to know where Abyssinia is actually located. I thought it was in the other area behind the dragon place. Somehow I am even more confused on its location. They are both "official" maps. Which is more "right?"

considering that equestria has many cities in name and place to fit the usa,and that the real life abyssinia is ethiopia i bet somewhere to the far southeast

Hold on a second... I just got a bit confused as to how exactly Equestria's borders look like. Equestria is supposed to be a land of the ponies if I'm correct and I assumed it would occupy the entire continent, while this map suggests otherwise: the city from The Movie (however it was called) isn't far from the places in the show and is located on the same continent. As we've noticed, there wasn't a single horse in the city, which would imply it isn't a part of Equestria. What bugs me even more, is where exactly is Saddla Arabia located? Saddle Arabia is inhabited by horses (as we've once seen in the show) and it would be kinda logical if it wasn't separated from Equestria. On the other hand, Equestria obviusly is based on America (locations such as Vanhoover and Baltimare support this kind of logic), which would mean Arabia is far beyond the ocean/sea. Though again, what is Equestria defined as? Is it supposed to be a country with particular borders?

I know this is kind of old, but Abyssinia is supposed to be located somewhere in "The Mysterious South", which is supposed to be everything under the Bone Dry Desert. I think it's supposed to be close to Klugetown since the "Cat lords" (the species Capper, Chummer and the Abyssinian royal family belong to) are said to hail from Panthera, its capital city in The Official Movie Sourcebook. Otherwise, lore on Abyssinia is pretty vague. We know it survived its sacking by the Storm King since the king and queen appeared in Convocation of the Creatures, and Applejack mentions the Mane Six were arrested there once in Ponies of Dark Water (which predates the movie by 2 or so years).

A few comics and a gamebook, yes. My sources were:

• The Movie Prequel #1-3: Storm King, Captain Celaeno and the Pirates and Capper of Klugetown.  Most relevant information comes here. The map in the OP comes from issue 1 and has been retconned hard, but some information still holds true.
• Friendship is Magic #61-62: Convocations of the Creatures. The fact that Abyssinia survived the invasion comes here.
• Tails of Equestria: The Official Movie Sourcebook, information regarding Capper's "official" species comes here and some lore regarding other people of Cappers species is explored somewhat. Brief mentions of Abyssinia and Panthera but not much else.
• Friendship is Magic #43: Ponies of Dark Water - Part I, Applejack mentions that they were arrested in Abyssinia once before as they came back from another adventure in the land.

Unfortunately, AFAIK, Klugetown has only appeared in those sources, at least by name, so it's all we have to go by. The place might appear in the "Beyond Equestria" series of books which are prequels and sequels to the movie but I haven't read any of them.

The map from the comic is so bizarre. The official map has Klugetown a good bit south of Equestria on the same physical landmass, but the comic has a giant mass of water just north. I have to wonder if maybe the perspective of the map is switched since we're in the southern hemisphere?

I know questions of canon will inevitably come up; especially when the comics are brought up, but Capper's species is canon to the lore, so they have to have some sort of home somewhere. As such I would think Abyssinia is located on a separate landmass beyond the dragon lands. Only a guess though. :/
