general Have you ever been to a wedding?

I've been to four - my aunt's (I was the ringbearer although I was 4 so barely remember any of it), my uncle's, and two of my cousins (as in, they had separate weddings - they didn't marry each other). My uncle's wedding was definitely the most grandiose I'd ever been to - he's British but lives in Spain and married a Spanish girl so they had the wedding over there in her hometown. The ceremony was in a small church in the mountains, and the reception was in a fancy hotel in the valley below. The food was incredible (largely, all I'll say is caviar is overrated and gross), the venue was great, and we actually caught part of a bull-fight as the hotel had a huge balcony that overlooked a bull ring. I have absolutely no idea how much that wedding must've cost, but the figure was probably eye-watering.

I must admit that while I do like weddings, I find them a bit awkward - especially as every member of my family takes the opportunity to mention to me that "I'll be next" and I never have any idea how to respond to such comments.

I believe I went to a wedding once, yes. I was a kid and it was my half brother. It's too long ago, I can't remember anything from it anymore.

I'm not a fan of such events in general. I rejected the only other time I was invited to one. But I would love to go if it was a really close friend. <3 :coco:

A few, always for family. Never particularly enjoyed any of them tbh, just not a fan of big ceremonies like that. Boring to attend, and I hate having events or ceremonies that focus on me. I know weddings are supposed to be more for the guests than for those getting married, right?   But I still can’t see myself ever really having a whole big wedding event for those reasons. And I’m too selfish to care about what my family or potential in laws would want.

I "accidentally" on purpose "crashed" a wedding when I was a teenager hosting an event in one of those elegant buildings you can host events into. Because it was non-invasive and more playfully related to the event -- the bride and groom giggled and it was a cute memory that boosted my confidence and charisma.

In 2018, I was Maid of Honor to a friend of mine. I do love weddings! When they are from close friends/family, it can be sentimental. When they are from strangers, sometimes you are offered free food from the catering that would otherwise be thrown away. Weddings are generally very fun, either way.

Nope, too many strangers talking about absolutely nothing. Shallow and mundane meetings of vanity hurtling through the endless vast mysterium of the universe. Isn't it curious, the human condition. TcWNVwh.png

Been to one as a child, I think either some friend or relative of my dad was getting married? But I knew no one and it was rather dull. Don't care one bit for them but if a friend thought I'm important enough to have at a wedding I'd come... but only for their sake :p

I've attended quite a few weddings.  I've seen "traditional" church weddings, a Wiccan wedding, and a couple of simple weddings officiated by a justice of the peace (mine was one of those).

I've been to about five. The last one I went to was back in 2017, so it has been a while.

I can't say I particularly enjoy them, as they often go for a bit too long for my liking, but I attend out of respect for the people who invited me. Plus the food is usually worth the hassle.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.
