general Have you ever been to a wedding?

I've been to around four or five weddings in my life if I had to estimate, but most are from my earlier childhood, so I barely remember anything from them... :adorkable: I do remember one that had me and my family driving down to New York, though, it was when I was only around 10-11 at the time, which is about 3 years ago. That drive down to the US was dreadful, sitting in a confined space for 13 hours with little to nothing to do, it's almost as boring as jury duty. :scoots: But weddings are fun, we get to see some family members and... loads of strangers, but that's alright, it's like a bonding activity! :P It can also get quite loud, and I don't do very well with loud volumes...

I've been to three. One was for a friend of my dad, which I had to go to because I was little and my parents dragged me along. The second was my sister's wedding, and the last was for a friend of mine from work. I didn't especially enjoy any of them and I don't like the public spectacle of weddings as a rule. It seems to me they should be a private matter between the bride and groom, and getting too elaborate makes it seem more like a show for the benefit of others than an expression of devotion between the couple getting hitched. When I have to attend I feel like an intruder on something special and intimate between others and it's uncomfortable for me. When I get married it's going to be private

None of my relatives have had weddings in the past 19 years that I have been alive, therefore I have not attended any, and even if I could, I would choose not to.

Nope, nor will i ever have one. I just find them shallow as all get out. Should be about love, but in America its all about getting outlandish things for it. You dont need an ice sculpture, this isnt a wedding of a royal family.

I've been to a couple.  Fun occasions, but nothing dramatic.

One of them was actually a surprise!  An uncle of mine, about 50yrs, was unmarried, and the family thought he was a lost cause.  Then out of the blue - BAM - he got in contact with an old childhood sweetheart and decided to marry months later.

I've been to two. My brother's, and a friend's/former-co-worker's.

The first one was okay because I got to spend time with old friends and eat a lot of food at the reception.

The second, I don't like to think about because of my friend's husband. He seemed cool at first. But as I spoke with him more, I realized he was nothing but a socialist pig. I don't want to be associated with some asshat who's voting to have more of my rights taken from me. And it's because of him, I won't be going to another friend's wedding early next year; that bloated sack of shit got invited before I did.

Yes!! In fact, last year, I went to my cousins wedding and had a meal of 8 courses!! Of course, I wasnt  surprised because it was a Romanian wedding and you expect that from them.

I've been to my Uncle's wedding, and may or may not have been in my parents' wedding, (not sure if I'd been born yet by then, either way I don't remember it,) and now I'll be attending my cousin's wedding soon.

I'm currently aromantic/asexual, and I've never been married. I'm not quite ready to settle down with anyone either. However, I have gone to my aunt's wedding before when I was very young. I don't remember any of it... but I guess I was the flower girl. One of my older cousins was the ring bearer or whatever. I have seen a picture of us there both holding hands as well (we were very young lol). That's about all I really know about going to a wedding.
