ManaMinori 4,149 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 One thing I don't see discussed at all is the repercussions of Twilight first coming to Ponyville and meeting her friends. The series paints this in a positive light, of course, but we've seen a bunch of of mishaps happen in Ponyville ever since that day. The Parasprite invasion (majorly caused by Fluttershy keeping the one after the majority had been brought back to the forest, and initially befriending one in the first place) that resulted in Ponies literally getting eaten out of house and home, once Twilight's spell backfired (thanks, Twilight), there's Amethyst Star no longer allowed to be the town organizer, thanks to Twilight, after the first Winter Wrap Up, there's Ponyville having been made chaos capitol of the world, thanks to Discord, which wouldn't have happened if the mane 6 weren't there, Ponyville getting overrun by stampeding bunnies, thanks to Applejack, the town getting attacked by Cerberus and Ursa Minor, largely due to Twi/ and/ or friends, be it a test for Twilight, or that mane 6 having harassed and heckled Trixie when she came to town, to lead to that.....and so many more incidents. Ponyville is not the quiet and uneventful town it used to be, since these 6 girls came onto the scene. Gotta wonder how the other ponies (especially poor Amethyst Star) feels about the mane 6, when you look at things from that perspective. 2 Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub
Will Guide 21,371 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 (edited) They already addressed that kind of thing. It was called S5's "Slice of Life" And Amethyst Star was shown to help crowds of ponies during crisis, when the Mane 6 are preoccupied with the main threat. She's okay with that kind of thing Honestly, sounds like another topic that demonizing characters instead of looking it as impressive that a quiet place like Ponyville adapt and handle the multiple crisis in different ways. They all managed to prepare for a wedding despite a giant Bugbear causes damage and worry. If that's not impressive, I don't know what is. MangoFoalix 25,057 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 That is a very pessimistic way of looking at it. To be fair with you, Twilight only went to Ponyville because Celestia wanted her to make friends since she was a loner. Twilight just so happened to come across these five ponies and the rest is history.
Passion 3,489 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 Man, it's absolutely horrible that thanks to Twilight coming to Ponyville the night does not last forever. I despise that! But, to stay on topic: I honestly doubt that anyone views Twilight through a negative prism spectrum. She's done too much good to be perceived by her side-effects. 2 𝕿𝖆𝖐𝖊 𝖒𝖊 𝖙𝖍𝖗𝖔𝖚𝖌𝖍 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖓𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙, 𝖋𝖆𝖑𝖑 𝖎𝖓 𝖙𝖔 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖉𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝖘𝖎𝖉𝖊! 𝖂𝖊 𝖉𝖔𝖓'𝖙 𝖓𝖊𝖊𝖉 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙, 𝖜𝖊 𝖑𝖎𝖛𝖊 𝖔𝖓 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝖉𝖆𝖗𝖐 𝖘𝖎𝖉𝖊! RDDash 19,246 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 Everything would have happened anyway, Twilight was never a catalyst to the chaos that happened in Ponyvile. Well maybe smarty pants doll incident would not happened and Celestia would not teleport into town to stop it. (Who am I kidding that would still have happened, see Canterlot friends bellow.)Remember when Twilight actually did had friends in Canterlot? Well cutie map switching spell would still had have happened only this time in Canterlot

Midnight Solace 5,134 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 I don't think Twilight meant to do any damage. Besides, she tried to fix any problems she may have caused, like she brought the Ursa Minor and Cerberus back where they belong. 3 ~Twilight x Midnight~ Ask Midnight I'm not a bad pony... Ganondorf8 11,707 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 A lot of the problems that have plagued Ponyville since Twilight moved there were unfortunate coincidences that she and the rest of the Mane Six had little control over. Granted, there were a few that they did cause but they were able to resolve the issue before things could really spiral out of control. Sure, Twilight has made mistakes but that's a part of what life is. No one can truly be perfect so having flaws allows us to relate to them better.
Misty Shadow 8,200 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 Not even one mention of Moondancer? Blasphemy! The reason you don't see it discussed much is because of how rightfully overshadowed it is by the good that has come from Twilight moving to Ponyville. Never even mind all the villains that would have never been stopped if Twilight never moved to Ponyville and became friends with the other five of the Mane 6, this is the same universe that can only have a good future because of Twilight and her friends. Like seriously, just re-watch The Cutie Re-Mark. Also, you need to realize that even good decisions made by good people are not always going to result in a positive outcome for everyone right away. That's just the way life is, and the bad in Ponyville that was completely out of Twilight and her friends' control was something they did everything in their power to stop to make the lives of everyone in Ponyville better. If you are still not convinced after this...it's no insult, but wow. "Twilight's character would've been much more interesting if she had stayed in Canterlot." Yeah, Fame and Misfortune was more accurate than I gave it credit for.
Jeric 46,882 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 It was mentioned on show, and the fandom brings it up often enough, and even pokes fun at at though fics, comments, animations, and comics. The meta joke in Slice of Life is one of the better instances where they address things as a joke, but even the recent Holiday Special has a line playfully joking about the chaos that tends to happen. I suspect the insurance premiums would be almost unaffordable at this point
Goat-kun 2,531 November 8, 2018 Share November 8, 2018 Everything has already been set in stone as far as equines are concerned. They cannot change their own destinies, slaves that they are. Harmony would always demand six vessels, and it would always find them, and it would always sacrifice the well-being of others to test them. There is no escape from the inevitable.
