I never liked the evil twin trope that gets used in fiction a lot  because I think it's overused and I also think it's ridiculous.

Like many tropes, the issue is not really that it is overused, but more cliched. Tropes that are used frequently are not always bad, and sometimes writers and directors can put a new spin to an old trope.

A bit yeah. I mean sure it seems a bit cliché but if they do it right then I have no problem with it.

It's kind of silly when you think about it, not to mention improbable. I could see it being used in a comedic context, just to offset the ridiculousness, but not much else.

It can be. If it’s done in the most cliche ways possible. If they try to do something interesting in it. Like try to make the twin have their own personality outside of ‘they’re a characters evil twin and just do evil stuff’ kind of thing then I’m totally on board with it.

If it's done well it works amazingly, but if it's done not so well it doesn't work. Like most tropes.
