Such a great episode. Really pushing the boundaries yet again. I think everyone needs to watch this episode beacause it really shows that you don't have to pretend to like something just so you can impress your special someone. And can we just take a moment to appreciate how adorable Quibble Pants can be?

I just watched "Common Ground" again before the new episode aired and noticed that Wind Sprint and Quibble refer to Wind's father in a past tense so it would appear her father has died like Applejack's family and the VA's late wife. So sad but a glorious way for the VAs to honor a loved one who is no longer with them. I figured this was the case when I read the episode backstory but still this further confirms it for me.

I love this episode so much every single character was great in this episode. The story was great and the lesson was great as well. I love seeing buckball again as well as  snips and snails and Quibble pants.  Once again a fantastic episode.

Intro is funny and creative. Episode actually starts and a colt gets excited when seeing Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy and Pinkie, but he's excited because of Ponyville's buckball team. Not because they are pretty much constantly the only thing standing between Equestria and a disaster. This is the kind of dumb writing that has convinced me that MLP ought to have ditched the 'epic awesome' of season openers and finales and stuck to the down to earth sitcom or the rest of episodes.

And then the rest of the episode happened and it was painful to watch. I don't know who tried harder. Dash, quibble, Wind or Josh. Not to mention that kids like Wind are the reason I don't like children. Worst of all, I just hate characters acting that stupid.

Some of the lines were funny, but not really worth the whole episode.

For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out.

And I'm just getting started.

Here goes Buckball Season again, with the appearance of Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Pinkie Pie playing buckball game with their experiences from the past episode before this season. This is Quibble Pants' first time at Buckball Game, and should have experience in sports. It comes by playing at the gym too for these ponies. Like when I play ball, I catch up with a ball when its thrown to me as a trick shot. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie have ball tricks using their manes, so I call this a trick shot for them! At the conclusion of this episode, that's a great ending for them with the Buckball Season, with Quibble Pants enjoying it with Clear Sky and her daughter Wind Sprint together! :D

Princess Twilight Sparkle always do legendary stuff with magic in Equestria. Time to blast from the past.

I think this episode has a lot of potential. Quibble's conflict is a great one that could've lead to a very emotional story. The problem is that this episode takes the premise and plays it in the most generic way possible. It's all about Quibble trying to be someone he's not and learning that he should just be himself, complete with all the blandest jokes in the book. There is one good scene that addresses Wind not wanting to forget her old dad, but it's just that one scene. Instead of going more in depth on that, the episode goes for jokes that don't land and a story that's been done a million times with the interesting stuff only serving as a framework for the real story.

The only saving grace is Patton Oswalt. He's a great voice actor and does his best with the bad jokes he's given. Sadly, it's not enough.

Score: 5/10

I did enjoy this episode, especially considering the emotional factor that it had. I do wish that they went deeper with it, but I can't really be too mad at the writers for choosing to play it safe on that one. Once again, it was nice to see a returning character - though admittedly I forgot who Quibble Pants was, until Rainbow Dash had referenced their previous adventure. His struggle to gain the acceptance of Wind Sprint did have emotion to it - particularly when Wind Sprint stated that she didn't want to forget about her father, following with Clear Sky reminding her that she doesn't have to.  Rainbow Dash had a pretty solid portrayal here, even though her ideas were too overly ambitious for their own good. She managed to perfectly balance being both good-hearted and humorous, which can be quite difficult to do. I liked how the episode essentially continued the Buckball career of Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Snails, following Buckball Season. We can easily assume that they're regular players at this stage, but I digress. Regardless, I'm glad that they managed to tackle a subject which many can relate to in various ways. Can I? No, but it really adds to the amount of feeling one may have while watching it

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

Didnt like the character all that much, so even though the Episode was funny, it is probably one of those i will forget over time. It had a nice message though.

I wonder what happened to her father...did he just got no more time to love his own family, or something more dark? Xd

Oh, he dead. For suuuuuure.

The episode was fiiiiiine. A bit cringe with how thick Rainbow and Quibble tries to lay it on the poor girl. The mom was great, just the perfect foil to the two bozos trying to hoodwinked her daughter :yay:

RIP QuibbleDash ship, which I never liked anyway, it can burn in Tartarus forever :sunbutt:
