general Do you cringe at your old topics/posts?

Some, some I wasn't in my right mind when I made them, so I kind of understand... Nobody is the same person they were an HR ago, let alone yesterday, let alone a year ago, things are constantly changing around us, and our lifestyles greatly change as well, there is inherent wisdom that comes with the reflection of time, a lot of hindsight gives you natural wisdom, even lacking in experience, but those of us that have both, are on a literal rollercoaster ride every day of our lives, changing associates, changing habits, changing obligations, changing friends, changing lifestyles completely... Sometimes changing interests and tastes to... Look back on it more with intrigue to see how you've evolved and where your mind has gradually changed it's frequency...

More so, my old stories I write, like... Why did I think having a character literally (on accident) tear himself apart and then be immediately okie dokie after that was fine? I guess it makes sense since he's undead anyway, vampires have all the luck, not to mention half demon too. He can only be weakened by diamonds but then he was fine??? I dunno anymore, but I don't think I should hang up the storywriting belt just yet. 

Oh and main character of these stories LOVES to sulk about how his life is s**t when the worst he's had happen was the above mentioned character capture him and keep him locked in a- Oh I see now...... Sorry Splotch (I apologized to my OC, ha)

Just thinking about them makes me cringe. I try to cut myself some slack, since I joined this site when I was like 14 or 15, but still, it bothers me.

my first post was back in 2014 and i was still in primary school back then, so it is very cringe to see how i was back then since i still had a lot to learn about spelling, grammar and socialising lol

Absolutely. I've never been shy (heh) about my political opinions, which definitely causes some cringe seeing as they've completely changed since I was active here years ago.

The occasional one does make me cringe. But I can't be expected to write gold standard material all the time. Need the occasional brain fart in text form every so often to keep me humble.

I don't believe it makes any difference, the past is the past, even if you had an issue with what you said, history cannot be erased, or else we'd end up with a time paradox.

As for me? well, sometimes. I think the other night when I mentioned the gory details of horror movies in a thread on this forum may have irked some people. Other people talked about similar things I think, and then somebody joked about it with a quote saying "These people are sick" so I decided to play along with them, told them it's not like I'll be on Equestra's naughty list for saying all that.

I think that will be less of an issue for me, once some time has passed and I have any actual history to look back upon...on this forum. 

Now as for some of my older posts on other forums...

And I bop myself over the head any time I remember certain things, but I'm grateful that I've been able to learn from those those and now regret them.

Believe it or not, even in my case there has been some growth.

Yes indeed. There's this one topic I've made on here 10 years ago, that is so stupid it's almost embarrassing for myself and my image in front of other users here, I even made a request for the forum mods to take it down, since I don't want to look at it anymore, knowing that it's still there.

Looking back on what I did, I'd say so yes, I've only recently turned over a new leaf and for the sake of helping to lift others spirits here as everyone has their own personal problems they don't like to talk about every day here, I would say both therapy and positive reinforcement from people on this website has helped me avoid pessimism, even to the point in me removing sources of stress from my life as much as possible. It is not because people are oblivious or do not care about others, people wish to have a good time here, and I have to respect that. So to that end, I will try my best to earn people's respect here, if I do something wrong or say something which puts somebody off, I welcome others to tell me about it so I can avoid saying that to them in future.
