Haha I've also been playing ToF while I wait for the next Genshin update 
What do you think of it so far? I'm not much of a sci-fi fan but I think it's still fun, no replacement for Genshin but it's nice to have something else to do during the slow times.

Aw nice! And I actually like the game so far, there’s definitely a lot more to do. I don’t mind the story that much either, since at least the dialogues doesn’t drag and they don’t expect you to do useless chores .  Also I like how I get to pull more without feeling the pressure I have to save or wait for characters. I already have the weapons I need that could last me for a long term.  They only thing I don’t like is I can’t play the game outside my house- so no game for me during work break.  

However I do like it how it’s more challenging. But I will have to see how long my interests for this game will last since it’s only been a week.  The CO-Op system is fun though even though I’m not a coop kind of guy but this is durable because no one is forcing you to chat haha. I also like it how we can customize our own character and use them. So this time I don’t have to care much of what character I should pull, just as long their weapon will benefit me. 
 

So far the weapon I have is Shiro ( From the free ssr box), Zero and Samir at 1 star. I’m working on getting Samir at 6 stars so that’s my primary goal. I’m saving for Claudia but their gecha isn’t friendly as Genshin but  hopefully I could get her at all my 80 pulls. 
 

what about you? What have you pulled so far? And mind if I can see your OC?

Yeah I think there are some things it does better than Genshin and some things that Genshin does better instead. So far I haven't found the main story in ToF to be very engaging, but I haven't finished it yet so we'll see. I wish they would involve the gacha characters a bit more in the story though; Hilda didn't really do anything useful, Crow barely made an appearance, and Bai Ling was okay I guess but by that point I had kinda stopped paying attention... the exploration and combat are fun, a little clunky (could just be lag on my crappy PC ) but I'm sure I'll keep learning more about the mechanics as I keep playing. I also haven't spent much time doing co-op stuff yet so I can't speak to that but maybe once I finish the main story/upgrade my weapons some more I'll try it out. I do think PvP in a gacha game is a pretty dumb idea since you basically win as long as you have the banner character, but if some people like that then it's good to have the option I guess.

Yeah, I agree about the story. I’m on chapter 3 right now and not much said about the other characters- maybe if they will be added later in their side story. But I do feel some characters are a bit random and not being introduced properly.

Have you tried the joint Op? And The co-op for world boss is just a pain in the ass tbh. I kinda wish they have the world boss in a domain and have us get match automatically. Instead of us having to search for people to help us kill it. I haven’t tried PvP mode. But probably won’t bother going in there to avoid toxicity when going against other players, especially when most players are brats who likes to trash talk and show off.  
 

Ohh you got a pretty strong team combo! Although any idea how does Zero healing work? My HP doesn’t seem to be healing but it’s more being shielded. Which is pretty misleading:/

And ohh your OC is so pretty! The colors really matches each other . And yeah the options to make your OC is pretty good especially for their eyes and faces! I do wish they let us choose more than one color to change lol.

Yeah agree. It’s not an easy replacement for Genshin that’s for sure! Genshin is more generous with their rewards. ever thinking of switching to a server and f the one you’re in are dead? Assuming you have not gone far yet.

Oh boy, those Aranara quest chains are making my head spin. Now, one does wonder, without spoiling much, if Loli Lord Kusanali is actually another god but drained of memories due to whatever "withering" stuff was going on in Khaenri'ah.

I just finished the summer genshin event and I'm exhausted, did a 9 and a half hour stream this morning with witty commentary. There was maybe like 300 to 400 primes in chests, but for the amount of work to get them for a few pulls I just did the sensible thing. I got all the stories done as well as the event challenges that gave primes and got the Fischl costume with only around ten minutes to spare, finishing the primes contained in her costume event on the way as well. So all the major prime giving sources and costume were obtained, and I cleaned out the event shop too. Job well done?

Nice work!! And Yeah I have to say that story is sure a lot of work and puzzles, you literally have to grind through the puzzle to get through the story but thank god it gives a month.

There’s a leak about something that Kusanali is could be a rebirth of the first dander archon if I’m correct about that. Also just finished the story quest. And man, talk about major jojob’s bizarre adventure on this one. I really enjoyed this story. Although I’m a little confused. So is everyone are in a deep slumber in a dream world  all this time or they only get their dream stolen while sleeping and the after effects are not remembering what they did yesterday after they wake up. Thus repeating everything they do.

I just finished the 3.0 Archon quests today, they were great! Definitely my favorite region story so far. I didn’t think it was predictable at all unlike some of the other quests. Mihoyo did a great job of “show, don’t tell” and asking the player to figure it out on their own, and I could barely believe it… so many more traveler voicelines?  

I ended up getting lucky on the Tighnari banner as I got him really early, so I was convinced to go for Zhongli as well . I’m having fun with both! Collei is so cute too. I want both Cyno and Nilou in the next patch, but Cyno takes priority for me so hopefully he is first.

ahh so I assumed that all this time they are trapped in the dream and not able to wake up then. That makes a lot sense since that girl (don't remember her name) was fine when they woke up. however if all was just the dream, what is the point of these puppets?

The last couple patches felt a little dry for me since I wasn’t too interested in the characters and there were no new map expansions. That fungi pokemon event was really fun though . I haven’t gotten into the TCG much but I play it from time to time.

But now I’m excited about the game again because I love Alhaitham  Also I’m glad Hu Tao is back since I’ve been wanting her too! And Dehya is also so cool…

Honestly I kinda stopped after the last archon quest with Scaramoche. Haven’t gotten through the new recent event yet. But I did watched the cutscene with Zhongli and his old friends and what happened to one of their friend who’s the inventor. People actually speculated that she could one for the harbinger! Which would makes since they look alike and both good with mechanics. But yeah I took a break and might come back to get Beizhou or once Fortaine drops!  Have you seen some of the leaks from it?

Yeah I really enjoyed this year's lantern rite story! I can see how Guizhong looks a bit like Sandrone but I would be really shocked if that turned out to be true, still a fun theory though . I have seen the Fontaine character leaks too and I'm really curious to see how their designs will change when they're officially announced. I wish we could see more early concept art of other characters.

I’m holding my breath till that theory is confirmed because that would be so interesting coming Genshin impact like the greatest twist! Should I get into the lantern story? Because I don’t feel like doing it but at the same don’t want to missed one important lore that may connect to the future archon quest.

I love the Fontaine design so far! It’s so elegant with a  stream punk flair to it. I’m already interested in captain R right now

I knew about Hu Toa and Mona and Gayna, but started playing in November 2022, was addicited it be my New Sims 4 cos that game is like I played for life but stop when update f*** the game and played seven games before Genshin Impact. 

There quest which almost made me quit and can be too much but apart from that it a fun game, got some good characters, want another Hu Toa, Mona, Keqing, Klee and Nadhia. My main party are Lumine, Amber, Notelle and between Barabara and Lisa, have five others use two for useful things. I choose Lumine cos I like most of ladies in the game, haven't met Hu, Mona and some other ladies yey and there many quests to do.

Eh I don't think there was anything too lore-important outside of the adepti cutscenes, mostly just the characters being silly with each other, I liked getting to see Zhongli and Venti "meet" at the banquet scene, that was pretty funny

I think Captain R is supposed to be from Mondstadt? Though that wasn't confirmed 100% but we should hopefully be getting a Mondstadt update at some point with the port expansion to the north! Mondstadt does feel really small now compared to the other nations.

Ahh good to know! Because I wasn’t in a mood to get into since I’m planning to take a break from it until Fontaine! 
 

yeah I feel like since it’s unfortunate that Mondstadt is the first they didn’t do much justice in the design. Hopefully when the next event comes we may have a new area to unlock on Mondstadt. Or storyline on it that connect us to Fontaine. Since they’re both European countries.

I'm now struggling regret go on Adventure rank quest 2, happy to managed to complete it but now enemeis level are higher than my characters should of done two main story quest as I'm struggling, when hit an enemies sometimes their life level slowy going down. One quest where it where I met other traveller's sibling  the ruin hunter and many enermies struggling to fight them all specially with ruin hunter. In this rate, I may not get Hu Tao, she diffcult or unlikely to get. Game stressing me, if I haven't got Hu Tao I'm done. I also struggle to build up my characters & weapons.

Yeah the trailer looks cool but says so little about the show, I'll definitely give it a try though if/when it is released.

Sooo what are your thoughts on Baizhu so far? I was kind of hoping for more animations with changsheng his snake but maybe there will be some of that in his story quest. Kaveh on the other hand has some super cool animations, I especially love his briefcase

Baizhu was underwhelming for me. I was expecting more snakes effects and instead got nothing but green swirls and expecting his effects and moves to be more unique like how Yae  is. I waited for him this long but now kinda debating if he’s worth the pull. Might gonna try him out to see if he’s worth it for me.

 

Kaveh, looks so much fun to play than Baizhu. His suitcase is an amazing addition for him to stand out from the rest of the characters. If anything he feels more like a 5* to me. I love how they added a catalyst flair to his fighting style. Maybe a beta test for Dottore? I can see his fighting style to be close like Kaveh.  An elegant catalyst/claymore user.   Who are you planning to pull?
