The Mysterious Island

The Story

All of you were onboard a mighty ship sailing from Equestria to the unknown lands beyond when a storm capsized the boat and you awakened the following morning on the beach of a tropical island. You must first get your bearings, plan your survival, and then find a way off the island because the jungle has secrets that you mind not want to discover. There is an active volcano and evidence of pony tribes who might have been here long ago. It's possible the mysteries of this island won't stay contained either, as they might be searching for you, as you search for them.

How it plays

The basic description of where you are, what is currently happening, and what you can interact with is done by me with specially marked DM Posts. Like a normal roleplaying game, you post what your character will do, but there will be limitations. Back and forth conversations are allowed to go on indefinitely, but once you have described your character attempting a task (such as building a hut, climbing a tree, or attacking a jungle creature) your posts must stop until the results are decided. The success of all tasks in this roleplaying game is determined by brohoofs (votes). In between DM Posts, each player is allowed to give ONLY ONE brohoof to a post that describes a task any player is attempting. Whichever post receives the most brohoofs will be an automatic success. Whichever post receives the lowest number of brohoofs is an automatic failure. If two or more players decide to team up and perform the same task, the brohoofs they received are multiplied by the number of players doing that task.

 

Rules of Play

1) When describing a task you are trying to perform, it has to be something realistically attainable with your character's skills and abilities.

2) Certain obstacles like crossing a rickety bridge can be considered an automatic success if a pegasus player decided to fly over it, but they will have to wait on the DM to describe what's on the other side if that's the case.

3) Players are also allowed to have private voting sessions, if they want to decide as a group what course of action they want to take. Every player is allowed an extra brohoof in between DM posts to cast as a vote between two leaders representing each position.

 

Other Rules

1) If you fail to post regularly or abandon this roleplay, your character will be godmodded out and your slot open to another player who will enter the game as another survivor who landed on this island before the original crew.

2) Keep all content PG rated, as much as you can.

3) Please proofread your posts before submitting them. We don't be Grammar Nazis but all the writing should be descernable to all players.
