Guns & Roses is better than Nirvana

Because Axl Rose still continued to make music.

Other guy, ehem Kurt Cobain just gave up and inspired sad guys to come out.

So i say the one who hates life will lose that life. But one who tries to find goodness in it, truly lives.

But on the other side of the coin, Axl's full tendency of creative control drove away Slash, Izzy, Duff and Matt when he was working 10 years to create the Chinese Democracy album:dry:

He was dealing through tough times for sure. I wish he made better choices for sure.

@Maxmillian

What's more interesting is that the Guns performed live the Velvet Revolver (the band Slash and Duff once had with Scott Weiland) song "Slither" during their classic era reunion tours.  Was Dave Grohl in bands before Nirvana?  And did Nirvana perform covers of very young Dave Grohl stuff?  Foo Fighters ever played Nirvana covers?

Based on what I've learned from the rivalry between G&R and Nirvana, I'd say any rivalry they once had was ultimately petty and immature on both of their parts. There was no winner in that situation; and I wouldn't be surprised if most people don't care. Maybe if you're a fan of the band, you might. But most people just want to listen to some good music and be on their way. You can cultivate whatever image you want, you can try to associate with those that fit the image/message you're going for; but you can't control how the world sees you. Things might have been better for either band if they had just let it go instead of making a big deal about it.

Though I will say, Kurt eventually lost his life. There is nothing funny about that. I heard that the members of G&R reached out and buried the hatchet between them and Nirvana. That was the mature thing to do. Life is sacred, and no amount of feuds or rivalries, no amount of questionable life choices will ever justify the loss of life. :sunny:

As for preferences, I can't say I have any. :ooh: I've only listen to a few songs by either band. It just depends on how I am feeling on the moment. If I want more of a classic hard rock or glam rock experience, I might listen to some Guns & Roses. If I want something about more grungy or punk, I'll listen to Nirvana.
As for the people themselves, that's a different matter. I wouldn't want to hang out with people that are disrespectful to the stage crew, the fans, or anyone else outside of the band. I've heard Axl can be very disrespectful in that manner. Not sure if it's still true, but if it is, I wouldn't want to hang out with him. I might enjoy his music, I might jam with him on stage (if I was part of a rock band), would even treat him with respect and professionalism, but I wouldn't want to hang out with him. On the other hand, I've heard nothing but amazing things about Dave Grohl and his band. I'd much rather hang out with him. I've also heard that the members of Metallica are actually pretty decent, respectful people. Wasn't sure if I would have hung out with them in the earlier days, but after Hetfield got out of rehab and started managing his anger issues? Yeah, probably would hang out with the band.

I'm the kind of guy that doesn't like to burn bridges with anyone. :twi: You don't have to make friends with everyone. There are times where you have to pick your friends carefully. But you never when treating people with respect and professionalism will pay off in the future. You never know when cutting ties with someone may come back to haunt you. Sure, you can stand for something important, just choose carefully what you're willing to take a stand on.

Yeah that’s a real bad take you have made on mental health. We have users on this site who have openly shared their own struggles with mental health. We even have an entire section here dedicated so users can express and vent about whatever they are going through as a safe space. We also have users on this site who are apart of the lgbtq+ community themselves.

I understand not liking somebody and I don’t really care whether you like Kurt or not.

However there are a lot of people suffering with mental health issues in the world right now, including users on this very site, and these sort of “jabs” aren’t funny.

I like Guns N' Roses and some Guns N’ Roses songs although I think they’re overrated.
