A Raven races through enemy fire to rejoin its comrades on the other side of the battlefield after getting separated.

I've been playing a lot of Mechwarrior Online recently, and I wanted to try my hand at drawing one of my custom 'Mechs. This is an RVN-3L Raven with three Light Particle Projector Cannons, Stealth armor, and an LRM 5. I (sadly) don't have this paint scheme in MWO, but I thought it'd be cool to draw a Raven in Rainbow Dash's colors, especially since I've basically been listening to SlyphStorm's song Pegasus Device on repeat recently. This is far from my best work, and some of it (mostly the Raven's body) was traced, but I feel like it came out pretty well. It could use some shading, though.

Officer Slipstream of the Police Department of Greater Manehattan stands in the rain after handling a late-night crime scene.

Please provide critique on this drawing! I put in a lot of work to see what I could make with my current skill level, and I have to say, I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Still, I want to know what other people think of it.

An OPL-5S Opaline BattleMech cracks its 'knuckles' in preparation for a fight.

This is a 95-ton assault BattleMech of my own design named after, you guessed it, Opaline. Hence the purple. It is armed with two Medium Lasers, two Short Range Missile (SRM) 6 launchers, an Autocannon/20, and a giant hatchet. It's actually quite a nasty brawler, especially against mediums and heavies that get close enough and foolishly think they can knock it out. The Opaline's very presence is an area denial device, capable of scaring entire lances away from it because they fear its lethal close-range capability.

Firstly, I really like this piece. Coloring is many places spot on, mundane and darker shades on the back and more vibrant, lively colors on the characters on front. You did a great job with those red and blue lights being out of focus. Shading on the neck and lighter colors on the muzzle help selling the idea of 3D. Well done.

But, that being said, those colorful lights on the background, they should be reflecting on the body. Maybe you cold add some light shading with those colors to the torso and the foreleg.

I like the rain effect you draw, but you could maybe add some life and realism to the hair by adding some gloss and reflection. Try drawing some lighter lines here and there.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely consider that next time I draw some rainy scenes.
