iAmAYellowSquirrel 10 June 26, 2012 Share June 26, 2012 I would say Gimp or Inkscape.
Dark Qiviut 22,431 June 26, 2012 Share June 26, 2012 If you're into vector drawing, I recommend Inkscape. It's a simple vector software application that can help you effectively draw ponies all the while give you the ability to scale shapes without having to worry about fuzzy resolutions. But if you're into raster art, then I recommend Gimp. I don't know much about it, but it looks like an effective alternative to Photoshop. One drawback regarding Gimp, though, is that it isn't primarily a vector editing program, so you'll have to be careful about your pixel dimensions. Nah 3,182 June 26, 2012 Share June 26, 2012 MS paint, for crappy doodles, Inkscape for vectoring, GIMP for drawing, or paint.net for drawing also.

AnonyPoni 564 June 26, 2012 Share June 26, 2012 Inkscape is nice. I have no artistic ability (I wish I did) but I have inkscape on my linux computer and it is nice, easy to use, and full of options. It seems good for pony art. There is a windows version as well. http://inkscape.org/download/?lang=en
Evilshy 5,090 June 27, 2012 Share June 27, 2012 I use inkscape for vectors, and then I usually make it look pretty in GIMP. Of course, I've hardly used either, because I so rarely do anything visually artistic Signature now 99% less edgy!
Jokuc 8,173 June 27, 2012 Share June 27, 2012 (edited) I personally prefer Paint.NET over GIMP since I find the gimp program to be just... weird. Incscape IS THE BEST vectoring program and um.. Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI costs money.... Edited June 27, 2012 by Jokuc

Octavia's Cellozoid 1,488 July 1, 2012 Share July 1, 2012 Inkscape works if you have a mouse. I've been having a hard time with the touchpad. Finland is my favorite. All the other Hetalia characters can go now.
Guest July 1, 2012 Share July 1, 2012 MS Paint. The other stuff takes too much time -- I don't want to spend 5 minutes getting associated with the tools and whatnot for vector drawings x3
