My NOT Original Pony-work

So, I drew from a drawing (yeah, I don't know how else to word it) my three favorite ponies from someone else's original work (I don't know who). I just thought they looked completely AWESOME and I wanted to "feel" them with my pencil myself. Basically it's FANART or FANART :D

It's on an 18x24" sheet. I don't know if I want to add any color, but if I do, I think I'll use crayons as the medium. I've been wanting to use them for a while.

(I keep repeating that it's a drawing of a drawing/cyberart/whatever-it-is because I don't want to take credit for the idea and style)

Anyways here's my drawing of the drawing:

and the original work/style/whatever: post-4038-0-29129100-1341175211_thumb.jpg

I don't know who to give credit to, I just found it on Google.

UPDATE!:

Here's the finished product, colored in Crayola crayons!

Very nice copydraws. <3 Copydrawing is probably one of the best ways to learn without actually tracing.

One suggestion I'd make is to connect RD's foreleg line to her mane to make it look like it's going behind it; Right now, it looks like her foreleg is coming out of her cheek, heh

The images look nice though you'll have to make your own art work to properly get better.

As for Constructive Criticism, you really need some lines moving in a swoop along Rainbow Dash we can actually see her body is above her; first time looking at it I thought you forgot the legs and body from the image. And please move the front leg down a bit to reconnect to the body and not the face...

Also, move Applejacks forehead a bit more inwardsand the eye slightly higher and also closer to the forehead as well.

Nothing majorly wrong with Pinkie Pie

Most people would argue strongly to do your own work but it may be more advisable to continue doing what you're doing; we only get better in our skills by learning from others. Just ease off slowly from using other peoples work and try doing your own poses and scenes.

I can already, as you say, make my own artwork. I just wanted to "touch"/"feel" this person's style. As for all of the...mistakes... I've made, this style is vastly different from my own, which is why it looks ghastly :P

I know! It looks so funny, but that gives it character!

I wasn't going for accuracy, by the way ;)

Understandable there. I was never implying you didn't know how to make your own artwork. I was merely stating that by learning through other peoples work's and the corrections in our own do we further our understanding in our artistic skills as a whole, thus improving our own skills in the process.

I see. Well, thank you for your constructive criticism. It's very much appreciated.
