Thunder dropped the detonater and started pounding his hoof on the ground and sobbbed. "Why can't I just make it right for one filly? Why does it have to be so hard to pull the trigger." He asked nobody in particular as he curled up with bloodshot eyes still full of tears.

Carrick walked over to Thunder. Today has been a roller-coaster for most ponies today. Rejections, breaks up, mental breakdowns, being stuck in a closet, and now this...

 

Carrick took the detonator from Thunder, "because in your heart you know this isn't right. You know that if you do this. You won't be able to get back to a normal life. You'd be just a cold-blooded killer. You'd be killing a pony for all the wrong reasons." Carrick patted his back.

 

"Starbolt, Daeva," Carrick took off his hat. "Why don't we help Thunder to his room? He's had a long day, I think a good night's rest would do wonders for him. Don't you think?" Carrick wanted Thunder to go to sleep. Where the pain won't come. Where he'll be at rest, hopefully his mind will be at ease.

Blaze was happy that the situation had been defused. The last thing he wanted to do was spend the rest of the day burying his friends. Did he really think of these ponies as friends? Yes, yes he did. It was quite odd, that in the wake of tragedy blaze had found his first true friends. "Well can we get back to the matter at hoof here. We have a foalnapped filly here and she might have some info of some sort" Blaze said.

"Is-is it over?" Sweetie Belle, still in the other room. She was worried about what happened as the ponies were screaming at the other pony to not blow up Snow. Finally the screaming had stopped and all was to be heard was Thunder, sobbing uncontrollably.

 

Carrick turned around to Sweetie Belle. He placed the bomb in his pocket, for safe keeping. Thunder was still unstable, he still had no idea what would happen, This is a bit overwhelming. "Yeah, it's over. Everything is fine." Carrick gave his soothing voice to her so she could calm down.

 

"A-are you going to take me home still?"

 

"I don't back out on my word, we'll be there soon enough. I just like to ask you some questions" Carrick gave another smile. Manners, Manners, Manners. Carrick thought in his head....

Sweetie Belle looked down, the memories of Rarity filled up as she started to cry. Carrick gave her a hug, "It's okay. Let it go." Carrick said. Sweetie Belle continued to cry. She thought all of it was gone...all the crying....it wasn't...

 

Ten minutes had passed, Carrick still held on her for comfort. She stopped crying, her composure back. "T-thank you, ummm....who are you?"

 

Carrick forgot to tell him his name, that's not good manners "I'd apologize. My name is Carrick Murphy, I'm a detective."

 

"You're a detective?!" Carrick nodded, "Now, can you still go on? Or would you like to wait?"

 

"I'll continue." Sweetie Belle sniffed, "it was late at night, I heard some screaming in my sister's room. I ran out after and than...I saw it..."

 

"Saw what?"

 

"Twilight...she froze my sister!" Carrick eyes widen, What?!

 

"Twilight froze your sister?" Carrick needed to repeat that.

 

"I saw it with my own two eyes. She froze her!" Sweetie Belle, slowly envision it. "I begged her to stop before she did it but...it was too late. The look on Twilight's face...and than....I blacked out...."

 

Carrick couldn't believe it. Twilight Sparkle had betrayed her friends....

Blaze was confused, I mean sure he saw twilight in the cave and heard her communicating with someone making it sound like she was conspiring with someone, but he didnt think twilight actually committed the act of marenapping. The whole thing boggled Blazes mind.

It feels like everything starting to connected. Twilight Sparkle....could you of marenapped all of your friends? Were you willing to do it? Ice Star...what are you planning?

 

Sweetie Belle nodded "I seen it with my two eyes. The room was still lit up, since Rarity was doing a dressed, like she always does. I just saw her for a few seconds than....I got hit."

 

"I see, what happened after you got hit? Did they hurt you?"

 

"No...I woke up here. I've been stuck in that cabinet for....I dunno....it felt like.....days....months. I tried to get out...but all I got were scratches from the wood"

 

"Have you eaten at all?"

 

"No sir, I've haven't eaten anything at all."

 

"Well than, we better get you something to eat before we take you home." Carrick smiled at her. Carrick went into the kitchen and checked the cabinets, he tried to find something that was ediable. The food here didn't seem to last, all of it crusty or rotten. The aroma touched Carrick's nose. "Whoa," Carrick closed the cabinet doors

 

"Does anypony have some food? " Carrick asked.

Blaze reached inside his saddlebag and pulled out some fresh apples, he gave them to Carrick so that carrick could give them to Sweetie Belle, he thought it might be better if the food came from Carrick. "Here Carrick"

"Thanks, Blaze." Carrick took the apples and gave one to Sweetie Belle. "Here you go, Sweetie Belle." Carrick held the others. He didn't want them on the ground.

 

"Thank you!" Sweetie Belle face lit up with joy, finally! food! Sweetie Belle started eating the apple. Enjoying the flavors that touched her tongue. They were enhanced even more as the juice from the apple poured into her tongue. She went and finished the first one. Carrick gave her the second one.

 

"Sweetie Belle, is there anything else that remember...at all? Do you remember anything that happened in the cabinet?"

 

"....I couldn't hear anything in there....no noise...no sight....nothing.....just darkness."

 

Carrick felt a small surge of anger. Not enough to blow up Snow or Twilight if he saw her, but enough for him to show a slight bit of rage. His face return back to the calm demeanor. "I'm sorry for you to be actually be there. Don't worry. We'll be taking you home soon enough" Carrick said.

Blaze went outside and created a runic circle for a portal back to ponyville, it took him about fifteen minutes to finish the rune. After drawing the rune in the snow he charged it with enough MP to keep it open for 5 minutes. "The portal to ponyville is open, so she can go back at anytime" Blaze said

Carrick wrote something down on his notepad. He ripped it out and gave it to Sweetie Belle. "Listen, if anything happens....if you feel different or something suspicious is going on. Send me a letter to them to this pony. He'll know what to do." Sweetie Belle nodded.

"Sure," Carrick said, he wasn't sure if he would be able to bring her back. For all Carrick knew, she had became shattered ice. Still...it's hard not to white lie this...to anypony. Carrick opened the door for her as she walked out of the cabin.

 

Sweetie Belle went into the portal. All of what happened will be engrave into her memories for a long time. Nothing will able be the same her. Hopefully, if Rarity comes back some form of normalcy could reappear.

 

Carrick sighed, "What a long day."

"Well what now?" Blaze said "Do we even have the slightest shred of evidence on where Ice Star is? Where do we go from here? We now know twilight is against us, great, but what does that tell us about where we should go next" Blaze asked a series of questions hoping to get some answers.

"You're here because you're hiding Twilight Sparkle!" Carrick pointed his hoof at her.

 

"When I had said this, she had a freak out reaction. Showing that I was right about the accusation. Now, here the big question, is she in this cabin? I doubt it. However, the testimony that Snow said was that she had to protect the cabin. Though Sweetie Belle was in the cabin, I think in this part, she was a different puzzle piece."

 

"Now, how bad was the snow storm when we got here? It was terrible, right? So, we were forced to land here. What would of found when we got here. Her. Snow was here to stop us NOT to reach the cabin...because it would of been impossible to go any higher without a crash landing or something worst. The only way to reach the the top of the mountain would be the path, the path which leads to the cabin, thus, protection of the cabin is vital to the whole operation."

 

"Sweetie Belle is a different piece, I think if anything collateral damage. If she didn't get knocked out, she would of told them sooner about the disappearance of Rarity and Twilight. The investigation would of been done earlier and maybe would of ended much sooner, in theory." Carrick said, though he was sure about it...he felt that she was bigger piece to this puzzle. He wasn't sure what.

 

"So what does this all mean? It means that we're going to continue to go upon the path, and find Twilight Sparkle. For whatever reason they need this mountain. Maybe to find something. Maybe the catalyst can find it. At this point, that's our next step. We're finding Twilight Sparkle."

"Okay, let's go find Twilight Sparkle." Said Starbolt with a determined look on her face, ready to head out.

'Wonder how she fits in all of this.' She thought also wondering if she did this voluntarily.

Blaze laughed "Haha see? This is why you are the leader of this team." Blaze said smiling "Alrighty then what are we going to do now, do we rest a bit more before heading out, or do we just up and head out right her right now?" Blaze asked

"Well, actually." Carrick collapsed on the floor, a feeling of hunger came right through him. "I think we need to have a lunch break...I don't think I've eaten in days." Carrick said as loud growl came from his stomach. Why does my stomach always do that?

Daeva wasn't tired at all, in fact she just wanted all of this to end and find a normal life to live.

 

"Let's just go and find Twilight Sparkle now, I just want all of this just to end so I can live a happy life with somepony."

 

She wasn't that confident to face Twilight Sparkle but she knows that teamwork can overcome her.

"Well you are in luck, I got 12 more apples in my pack, I also have some oranges, and I have some cucumbers if you dont want anything sweet" Blaze said as he laid out the food contents from his right saddlebag.

Starbolt sat next to Carrick, levitated an apple and began to eat it.

"So do you really think Twilight Sparkle turned evil? Didn't she save Equestria twice? What could cause her to turn like that?" She asked Carrick.

Carrick shook his head, "Though there is evidence that conclude that she had turned to the dark side. There is no motive to do so. Unless Ice Star had convince in such a way. We can only assume that she is...misinformed." Carrick took a orange and started to peel it. He took a big bite.

 

"Food, I missed you" Carrick joked.

"Well there are S class spells that allow a pony to take control of minds. The problem is that, when we saw her in that cave, when we were invisible, I used Wave Sense and did not sense anything controlling her mind. So either she turned evil on her own or Ice Star knows a powerful spell that allows to change the thoughts of an individual. Not just control that individual but actually change the memories and thoughts, now while it is possible, a spell of that caliber would be a triple S class spell. And the only ponies who know SSS class spells are Celestia Luna and well Starswirl the bearded but he has been gone for a long time." Blaze said. He used his magic to slice a cucumber into multiple thick slices and devoured them one by one.

"In any case, we can't say much about Twilight's being evil. Not all things our black and white. If you remembered, Thunder's breakdown would not be consider good at all, but he is still good. So all we can do is find her and do another interrogation. I'm not sure how she'll react to us, however." Carrick said, thinking about what would happened.
