gaming When IE works better than Firefox

(Lol topic prefix, ANYways...)

I'm a Firefox browser and it's been screwing around lately, mostly with youtube. The funny thing is IE can run the same videos but with better performance, less lag, less random chops and stops, etc. Maybe it's because I have multiple tabs running in Firefox, maybe it's just firefox is buring out, idunno.

But does anyone else have performance issues with Firefox?

I guess I just try too hard sometimes and in the end I'm the one who's left, still broken.

Funny, same thing is happening with my safari, when it first loads it feels like the web page is frozen, and then it starts playing like 10 seconds in. So I switched to firefox for a bit. I figured out it was just my cookies, they needed deleted.

Every browser > I.E.

Firefox has always worked absolutely fine for me. Maybe you should disable some add-ons and such in F.F and see if it helps. F.F does have more feature ability than most other browsers, so it may contribute to the issue. Can always try clearing cache, and all that other stuff as well, just to see if it does anything. The first thing to do with an unknown problem is to find out what it isn't.

This is the order of browsers in terms of bestestness

Chrome>Firefox>Opera>Safari>Internet Explorer.

If you have a slow computer use Firefox, if you have a fast or average computer use Chrome. You should never use Internet Explorer as a consumer. It's a terrible browser and is dreaded by those who work in the web design industry. Mainly because of incompatibilities and differences in the way it reads css and html.

Basically it goes like this when testing a website for cross platform compatibility:

Chrome, check

Firefox, check

Opera, check

Safari, check

Internet Explorer, fuck

For me it's pretty bad with Chrome (on my Windows machine), since Chrome spawns a new process for every tab opened, and that in turn uses up a hell load of memory.

Also I think that the new version of IE isn't actually that bad, but the terrible reputation of its predecessors overshadows it.

I thought this was filed under Silliness. Anything that mentions IE being better than Firefox is really funny! Sorry, whenever Firefox starts acting up, I'll switch back to Safari and vice versa.

I mostly use Safari nowadays because I'm on my iPad SO much.

But on my laptop, I use Chrome. When Chrome can't do something, it's FireFox.

Yet Chrome works just fine for me...

I use Chrome on Windows. I.E isn't better than ANYTHING.

Seriously. It's a bad browser.

Are we talking about IE9?

Chrome > Firefox. At any rate, you should clear cache and cookies.

Recent Firefox updates have certainly getting more and more unstable, I just started using Crome about two weeks ago and mostly the reason I left Firefox is because Java/Flash kept crashing and it consistently failed to load pages. *shrug*

I remember having very vivid ideas years ago about how the light that man wanted to shine across the universe has all but burned out. But truthfully, I suspect it's always been like this. Man just doesn't, and never will, have much light to shine to begin with. Yet still he builds his cities and empires, and ceaselessly seeks to gather more knowledge, perhaps in the delusion that he can make man's light burn a little brighter, desperate to find something of permanence, or perhaps something which might prove to him that mankind is a benefit to the Universe and to himself and that it is worth existing. But he will not.

Umm, am I the only one who uses IE... I use Chrome at school if that counts and it always works fine there...

Firefox, when I used a while back was always slow for me.

Out of people who have actually heard of/used Firefox or Chrome as opposed to Internet Explorer... yes, you are probably one of the only ones in that group who uses it. Not up to date, bloated, security nightmare, etc etc.

I basically had the same thing as you, but with a difference, instead of being Firefox the one that crashed, Chrome was the one that crashed.

On Chrome:

-When i had more than 5 tabs open, all the tab processes crashed

-After 10 minutes of using any kind of thing that uses Java or Flash, normally the tab freezed, but sometimes it just crashed all of the tabs.

But still i have to admit, on Chrome everything looks better.

I guess that some browsers don't work properly on certain computers, you have to test which one gives better experience, for me was Firefox.

The only thing that happens to me on FF is this:

Posted Image

It's not annoying enough for me to change it though

Happens to me on Chrome (on my laptop) too. But that's probably because it's shit. Especially compared to my so much better PC.

Anyway, This is some kind of comparison:

0:00 Sonic - IE

0:14 Tails - FF

0:44 Sonic - GC

'Nuff said.

Firefox isn't as good as it used to be, just take a look at this comparison results:

http://florian.putho...han-firefox-13/

And here with the old IE:

http://www.webperfor...ading-websites/

So IE isn't as bad as many belivers want it to be.

Also regarding security, a browser is never more secure than whats 40 inches in front of the monitor.

IE is as safe to use like any other browser and like any other browser there are security extensions available for it as well.

Chrome is currently the fastest browser to work with according to many web designers, where as the recent Firefox versions are slow compared to both Chrome and IE9.

IE9 isn't bloadet, not up to date and full of security holes either. ;)

I haven't been into Canvas and such stuff recently (I've quit working a company developing HTML5 games 5 months ago). I can just say that when I started testing IE9 for performance it was horrible.

Even the MS tech demos were slower (5FPS on IE - 50 on FF / Chrome) and crashed more on IE than any other browser. Microsoft has started working on a way to solve this, basically they want to catch up with the rest of browsers by releasing more versions of IE and updating the via Windows Update.

I think it's a step in the right direction, IE has had some ideas that show potential (especially the Web-OS integration) and I'd be excited to see them making an effort to make standards come to live. And I hope they'll finally drop support for all the outdated crap they've produced in the past.

You can try something simple as opening sites that effectifly use Java Scripts http://dzineblog.com...ffectively.html

You will notice at once that the current Firefox verion simply falls behind.

We tested with 3 browsers on different systems and found their performance in this order, from fast to slow: Chrome > IE > Firefox
