I know my dear that I've caused you much pain

And from all of this I've taken the gain

But now I lower my head, leave in shame

At least I taught you a lesson this day.

 

Nothing's forever, no love is true

Eyes on the prize that I've stolen from you

Now that I'm gone you can start fresh, anew

But please know I apologize too.

 

There were so many things I left undone and unsaid

And so many bad things that I did as a friend

I swear I thought that it was all for the best

But in truth love I think I just lost my head.

 

Now as I sit in this chair, write this funeral dirge

All the terrible thoughts in my head finally purged

All the hate for myself coming back in a surge

Oh I wish that the first time I learned-

 

Nothing's forever, no love is true

As I finish this song, I finish my story

I take the cowardly way-in that they's no glory

But be glad that I'm gone, don't you dare mourn me

Cuz this time you learned it, surely-

This is the point that I try to hit home

And at last, with my life, I hope I can show

But here in my final words and last breaths

I've broken my own laws, slipped from my steps

All of the secrets from you that I've kept

I write in this song that I've left.

I revoke all the lies that I've spilled to you

Despite that I'm gone, you'll push through
