Nopony 0 January 1, 2012 Share January 1, 2012 I've seen Pinkie jumping everywhere, making the silliest faces, go into a big mood swing, and Babble endlessly. Would it be better if Pinkie Pie permanently stayed as Pinkamena bringing a more darker mood on the show. Look at Whinnie the Pooh, Eeyore is depressed about all the time...Actually now that I think about it Whinnie the Pooh is somewhat similar to My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. Eeyore is Pinkamena, Tigger is Pinkie Pie, Owl is Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy is Piglet, Kanga&roo is Rarity and Sweety Bell. . .and Scootaloo is supposedly Rabbit? Finesthour 7,287 January 1, 2012 Share January 1, 2012 Yeah, no. The show is supposed to be a happy one for children. They made Pinkamena to show that just because a pony is happy on the outside, does not mean they are happy on the inside. And I do see some similarities... but not a lot.

Finesthour 7,287 January 1, 2012 Share January 1, 2012 No. I like MLP precisely because it doesn't have a dark mood. My point exactly. So many shows these days have a dark plot that teenagers love for. *ahem* twilight *ahem* It is good to see the ray of light that is MLP.
Wonka 39 January 1, 2012 Share January 1, 2012 No. I like MLP precisely because it doesn't have a dark mood. It's one of the fewer things in life that doesn't evolve around grimmark, and does fine by being drug-happy like, which is somewhat why I like it too. To get back on topic, Scootaloo is a chicken, and Pinkie is hyper because she does bake sweets and is a party pony. I can't see how she couldn't be hyper for long. 1 "There is no life I know to compare with pure imagination. Living there you'll be free, if you truly wish to be." Agreed, i like MLP because it brings me happy thoughts instead of dissapointment and sadness. Better run, run, run, run, run.
Flutterguy1 203 January 1, 2012 Share January 1, 2012 I don't see why the show should have a darker mood. I like the fact that it doesn't. And I don't think it has that much in common with Winnie the Pooh.
Viscra Maelstrom 3,718 January 1, 2012 Share January 1, 2012 Pinkie is hyperactive because she is on a constant sugar rush 24/7. she doesn't get fat from eating all those sweets, because she burns up all the calories as soon as they enter her system. and i agree with all the others. i like MLP because it's just one forever long drug-trip of happiness x10. 83awsm 234 January 1, 2012 Share January 1, 2012 No. I like MLP precisely because it doesn't have a dark mood. I can totally relate man, the shows bright mood and scenarios where true friendship and good morals do equal hapiness is really what drew me in. If only things worked the same way in this world, if it had a darker mood I doubt the show would have taken off as much. Just a thought Awesomeness = at least 20% Cooler. Lady Rarity Pony 4,892 January 2, 2012 Share January 2, 2012 Pencils can explain Pinkie better than I can http://mlpforums.com/topic/638-pinkie-the-genius/ I suppose Winnie the Pooh and FiM have similarity in those ways but I don't think that was intentional. Espionage 113 January 4, 2012 Share January 4, 2012 As much as I love dark plots, it's fresh and nice to see a light hearted yet kind of deeper plot. Besides, if you want a dark storyline with ponies, go read Past Sins or something. Having a light hearted story with one or two darker moments is better than a dark story with one or two lighter moments. That's why Pinkemina is so boss. She's a dark side to Pinkie Pie but only shows up at extreme emotional distress. Kind of a personality I overanalyze. 1 Alea Jacta Est May I Steal Your Soul? Vinyl Scratch 262 January 6, 2012 Share January 6, 2012 (edited) This proposal is about as ridiculous as this comment I read on My Nintendo News where the person said they wanted to see a Wind Waker sequel with an adult Link and darker tone. I'll give you a moment to properly facepalm that. If any of the mane 6 were Eyore, though, it would probably be Fluttershy. This isn't because of any depression but rather her mostly passive and quiet nature. Even then, she's more like Piglett. My biggest problem with this theory: What's Winnie the Pooh without Tigger, who matches Pinkie perfectly? Would you have him be the new depressed guy in Eyore's absence? SBaby 660 January 6, 2012 Share January 6, 2012 (edited) Alright. I've kept this information under wraps for a long time now. But I think with all the questions about Pinkie Pie and why she acts the way she does, it's time for me to delve into the Forbidden Archives and show you the big secret to Pinkie Pie. And by Forbidden Archive, I of course mean youtube. Be warned though, your head may explode. There it is, folks. The inspiration for Pinkie Pie. By the way, Alucard is NOT Dracula's daddy!!!
