i like both mature and immature, but it depends on the kind of immature. i hate the immature douchebags who think theyre the shit, but i like the silly kids who say the most random things that are hilarious. maturity is always a + for me, except, like you said, when they dont like to have fun.

i think there is a time and a place for both, yes you should have fun and goof off every now and then but there are times where you need to be serious

I'm completely mature. I've never behaved immaturely in my life. Only idiots and morons do that. That's why all my usernames and profile pages are always highly sophisticated and void of humor and silliness.

I think you need to be mature, but you should (when the time is right) have some fun and act immature. I don't usually act immature around my friends, but get me to a school football game, and I'm usually the one who gets punched out of the bleachers.

I'm mature, may act a bit a bit immature every once in a while, but hey, most people are a bit immature. (makes fun of you all)

I try to maintain my composure most of the time, but I do know how to have fun with friends without being (or at least not too) immature. I just find immaturity is a trait that is typically more annoying than it is endearing.

There's a place to be mature and a place to just have fun. There needs to be a good balance. Overall, I probably prefer a immature person because I love having a good time. :)

I am childish, but I wouldn't necessarily call myself immature, considering I can be pretty mature in certain situations, and when I'm labeled immature, I find it a bit offensive

You don't consider watching a TV show for little girls and then getting involved with a forum for said TV show immature? :P

I would say I am mature. Maturity is not a matter of how many people you have slept with, the stage of your anatomical development, the blood you have shed, or the accomplishements you have made. Maturity is the willingness to be honourable and valorous even at the highest cost for yourself, the willingness to forsake your own well being to help others, and the understanding of life's most important core lessons. Maturity is a subject I often write on, because I believe it is not subjective, but rather objective, in nature.

i'm mostly all super-mature and srsface, apparently. my brother comments on how i have such a distinct serious look on my face almost constantly. i can't help the way i usually look like, dammit! D:

not to say i don't like goofing around, though. it's fun spreading around sexual innuendos on the forums and acting all bat-shit insane (see my recent status to confirm this). overall as everyone has said, moderation is key. you can't act like a total goofball all your life, but living your whole life with a sterile look on your face no matter what the situation is just as bad to act as.

watching cartoons is considered immature now? now i've heard everything. :P Edited by Viscra the Spiral

I am like an old woman, to be quite honest. I don't have fun, I don't like many teenager things, etc.

I hate perverted immaturity the most. I don't even want to start on it, or else I'll get a bit flustered. I also hate the dramatic immaturity. And then the irresponsible immaturity, which, is really the only kind of immaturity I take part it. I don't do my schoolwork like I should. That's about it. Other than that, I'm a "mature" old woman, who has no fun, and doesn't like many people.

What is immaturity with maturity? What is maturity without immaturity?

Nothing.

There needs to be a bit of both, or the other one won't be sufficiently sated. See, right now my post is super serious but $5 says the next post/status update/ comment will be super inappropriate or random.

I generally act mature outside of off-topic and silly threads, but boy, you should see me there. The other forums site I frequent, cemetech.net, is PURELY filled with the most serious people you'll meet on the internet -- I've been trained well.

I appreciate being around people who can cut loose and act immature to have fun however it does have its boundaries. I also like hanging around people who do act mature. Mainly because I like to have simple mature conversations with people that normally end up dabbing into the deep and heart felt subjects that are a joy to talk about sometimes.

Depends what you mean by "mature" and "immature".

As in Mature: I hate those people who think they're the shit, look down on more people and don't have fun. Everyones else is okay.

As in immature: I hate the ones who constantly act stupid and are just simply too childish. But the ones who are random, silly, goofy and know how to have fun are just really awesome.

It really depends. If the situation is informal, then I have no problem dealing with a large scale of immaturity. Horsing around and cursing at each other, punching each others' face while having fun and being responsible is fair enough by my standard. (I do it all the time myself.) However, I expect people to act utmost professionally and understand a concept of responsibility and respect when it matters, and that includes myself.

Just because you think a lot about life and who you are and become more mature minded than others doesn't mean that person is a boring one who doesn't understand a concept of 'having fun.'
