What if Celestia was the one banished to the moon?

I've been thinking about this for a long time now...

 

What if it was Celestia who turned all evil and tried to make eternal day? What if it was Luna who had to banish her to the sun (or moon)?

 

Would the story be less exciting? More intresting? Ruining the plot?

 

 

 

 

I will make a story on DeviantArt from tommorow or even today.It will be a different univers!

In the comics, Luna tried ruling over Equestria in her sister's absence. In about 24 hours, she almost wrecked Canterlot. I guess it would be better if she hadn't been gone for 1,000 years, but it's such a big part of her character, we can only speculate.

Celestia should have been banished she is like a manger you have and takes all the credit for something you do and I don't like the way she treats the other ponys and luna would be a better ruler.

The idea is slightly silly. Celestia wouldn't turn evil so her mind would have to be taken over. If that happens and she is overcome by Luna using the Elements then she would have been sent to the sun as that is the object she would wish to rule over the world. She would not die as only her spirit (along with the corrupting influence) would be imprisoned there. It would be weird if she was sent to the moon. Afterwards, Luna would have to take over her sister's place, meaning that she would act more like Celestia over time and little would change by Twilight's time.

Well, Luna would be like the current Celestia, and Celestia like the current Luna. The season 1 premiere's villain would have been Nightmare Sun etc. etc.

Over on Fimfiction they have the Lunarverse, an alternate universe where Celestia went crazy & had to be vanished.  They are doing alternate history versions of the episodes.  For instance, Trixie was Luna's apprentice & became the Element of Magic, Derpy = Kindness, Cheerilee = Laughter, etc.  Twilight tried to bring an Ursa in to town & got banished.  There are 27+ stories in the main line so far & they haven't reached Canterlot Wedding yet

But to answer the question, if she turned evil and was banished to the moon, I think the story would be mostly the same.

The difference may seem strange though, because good is usually associated with light, and evil is associated with darkness.

Dark / darkness lends itself more readily to evil-ish plots.  Sunshine?  Not-so-much.  Maybe day-crazy Celestia would have succeeded, and everypony would have been forced to invest in eye masks.

One thing could be that Twilight and the mane six would never been the Elements of Harmony. Luna loses connection to the Elements of Harmony, Celestia strikes creates eternal day, Discord strikes turns the land into chaos... Chrysalis not sure, Sombra may have taken over Crystal Empire....

Twilight wouldn't have been mentored she would just be another unicorn, the mane six would just do what they did in Ponyville. Spike would not exist or be another unicorn's pet.
